how can I hide attendee names and email addresses from other attendees

We have Independent sales reps that do not know each other. We'd like to invite them to the same webinar. Is it possible to hide attendees names and information from other attendees, signing on with just a first name?

Hi,

GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar, and GoToTraining allow you to hide the attendee list from the attendee view.  
To hide the attendee list from other attendees:


  1. While in session, click Options
  2. Un-check Attendees Can View Attendee List

This will be remembered for all meetings afterwards, until you change it back.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled How to hide the participant list as the default when people join?.

During a meeting there is an option that can be changed for each participant so they can't see the other participants: "Allow your attendee to see the list of other attendees" How can I set this as the default? Once the meeting starts it isn't practical to change this for each person.

If you Uncheck, does this also hide the number of attendees?  We don't want attendees to see how many people on the webinar

Yes, they will no longer see an attendee pane in their Control Panel.

Sorry one more question, on the attendee control panel, does it show just the number of attendees?

Yes, the attendee pane in the control panel shows the names and number of attendees. As the organizer if you choose to hide the attendee list, the attendees will not see the attendee pane at all and will be unable to see names or number of attendees. The organizer will still be able to see both.
