Were you hitting a "blank sign-in screen" error while logging in? That unfortunate bug has now been fixed!  Learn more about that and all the other great fixes this build introduces.

Highlights:

  • New minimum build for desktop app
  • Fix for inability to log in
  • Fixes for Audio Engine bugs
  • Fix for "25 Webcam" promo message

Rollout plan:

  • This build was deployed to customers beginning November 8, 2017.

What's New?

New Minimum Build for Desktop App

  • All users are now encouraged to update their GoToMeeting desktop apps to v8.12.1, b7882 which is the new minimum build required to use GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar and GoToTraining services. All builds of the desktop app older than v8.11.0, b7586 and earlier will stop working in December 2017, which is a result of the finalization of our merge with LogMeIn, Inc. (COLLABEP-18241; -18685)

Fix for Inability to Log In

  • Users will now be able to properly log in to the desktop app without hitting the "blank sign-in screen" issue, which occurred due to our mandatory domain name change. Previously, some users were unable to log in to the desktop app and start their session due to these changes, so they would encounter a "blank sign-in screen" bug. Signing out, quitting the app and then re-launching it was the only manual workaround that was previously available. Now, updating to this version or later will ensure users do not encounter this issue. (COLLABEP-20514)

Fixes for Audio Engine Bugs

  • Bugs related to the Audio Engine has been fixed, including:
    • The desktop app waking up Windows machines in sleep mode (a similar issue was fixed in v8.0.0, b6441) (RVE-659)
    • The desktop app crashing when a Mac organizer promotes a Windows attendee and begins screen sharing (RAE-2265)

Fix for "25 Webcams" Promo Message

  • Previously, the message promoting the new 25 webcams feature (which was added in v8.11.10) included a "Always show me what's new" checkbox for users running 8.11.0, b7586, which would cause the window to pop up each time a meeting ended unless the customer unchecked it. However, unchecking the box is not an ideal experience, as it would prevent the customer from seeing any promo messages at all for any future features that are added. With this release, that checkbox will no longer be there, and the promo message will only be shown once to avoid customer frustration while still allowing them to learn about new features in the future.
