A former IT Systems Admin has left the company. As a matter of procedure all accounts related to the departure are deleted, purged, or otherwise disabled from access. The company looks for a replacement admin, but in the mean-time retains a 3rd party on an ad hoc basis. In order for the 3rd party to assume Sys Admin roles they must have access to credentials. The designated LastPass Super Admin would like to review the contents of the vault prior to sharing items with the 3rd party to ensure only items related to company business are shared. Granted, there are work-arounds to this, such as re-creating the user, re-creating the mailbox, running a password reset, etc; However converting the vault to a shared folder would facilitate the present and promote a more consistent future. The Super Admin could verify the items in the shared folder, share what was necessary to the 3rd party, create policy based access for future admins, and expand the process to any departments requiring similar retention of credentials.
