LastPass Version: 4.11.17.6051
Phone: Google Pixel 5 (up to date)
I recently started having an issue where I'm unable to authenticate into LastPass using my fingerprint when I'm in Chrome. When I visit a site and I haven't recently used LastPass, LastPass autofill will pop-up with a fingerprint prompt but it will fail to authenticate me. It doesn't matter the position of my finger on the fingerprint reader, it always fails. If I close that prompt and go into the main app, I receive the fingerprint prompt and am immediately successful. Once I've successfully authenticated into the main app, the autofill app works fine because my session is already authenticated. Once my session expires, I'm back to the same issue. I'm not having any other issues with my fingerprint auth on the phone, either via the lock screen or any other app that leverages fingerprint auth.
Hello,
Could you try uninstalling the LastPass app, restarting your device, then reinstalling to see if that may resolve the fingerprint issue?
Thanks for giving that a try. So that I can gather some more details to ask our team, is your device one which has a fingerprint sensor built into its screen?
No, my device has a fingerprint reader on the back of the phone body.
Thanks for the information. So that our team can gather more details and hopefully resolve this as soon as possible, could you submit a bug report to our team following these steps? https://support.logmeininc.com/lastpass/help/how-do-i-report-a-bug-to-lastpass
I am also having the exact same issue using the "Autofill with LastPass" notification. When I use the biometric notification (face unlock on Pixel 4 XL) it does not recognize properly. However, it works perfectly fine unlocking my phone or even authenticating when using the LastPass app instead of the notification.
I have tried to reboot my phone, uninstall/reinstall the app, re-created my face unlock profile, and cleared the cache/storage for the app.
I am running a Pixel 4 XL with Android 11.
I now have a support case open on this. I'll update this thread with any responses I get from support.
