Add new field to Item template

Can I add a new field to the default template? Many of my online banking and credit card accounts have a PIN for support verification and I'd like to add it as a sperate field, but I want to use the default URL form. I've tried the Edit spanner at the base of the form, entered the new field name and value but it only appears in the edit view, not the main details view.

Is the PIN different from the Security Code option in the Payment Card template? It is not possible to edit the default templates, but you can create custom Item Types: Vault > All Items > Click the + in the bottom right corner > New Custom Item Type
