Unable to change master password

Tried multiple times to change my master password via the Web UI in Brave browser. Entered the new and old passwords only to be told "Your master password hasn't been changed."

No difference. I killed all but the current session. Cleared the cache of the browser and absolutely no difference. I was not logged into LastPass via the extension.

 

I had not used LP since earlier this year when you required one to be a premium user to use mobile and desktop. I kept LP account around but with this master password change issue I decided to delete the account outright. However that does not even work. I get a nonsense response:

 

"Something went wrong. : A" 

 

Update: It seems that despite throwing the above error message my LP account of 9 years has indeed been deleted. I am not alone when seeing an error message today when attempting to delete their LP account.

when I attempt to delete the account and after clicking on the two YES buttons warning me.

Hi @snowbound,

 

Did you new Master Password meet the following requirements? 

 

  • 12 or more characters long
  • At least one Upper and lower case letter
  • At least one number
  • At least one symbol

Yes the new password fits those requirements. It goes through the process of downloading my passwords etc and eventually throws up that error message. Tried in Google Chrome and same thing.

Thank you. When you change your Master Password your vault is decrypted on your device and then re-encrypted on your device using the new Master Password. It seems like something might be interfering with this. Please try the following and then try to change your Master Password again:
