Re: Failed to connect to the network adapter. Peer is not accessible via VPN.

OMG!  After searching the internet and these forms, I found your renaming and it worked!

I have been trying to resolve this issue for over 6 months and LogMeIn personnel are of no use, and this is such a simple thing to change!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Re: Failed to connect to the network adapter. Peer is not accessible via VPN.

Windows 7 Home Premium sp1, 64bit, Acer laptop

I struggled with this for several days this time.  Previously, i've had others i gave up on.

I uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled, removed registry settings, ran CCleaner, rebooted, removed all network devices, rebooted, reinstalled network drivers, updated, reinstalled hamachi from both web account and by deployment.

all with the same error - failed to connect to network adapter. peer is not accessible via vpn.

I did try renaming the network adapters.  When hamachi is installed - it installs (for me) 2 hamachi network adapters.  I was renaming the wrong one with the correct format -

Hamachi(space)(dash)(space)nnn(dash)nnn(dash)nnn

Hamachi - 123-456-789

nnn-nnn-nnn is the ID for your gateway (not the gateway client ID but the Gateway Network ID) - it's also the number you enter to "join a network".

So the network adapter that chose to rename is the Primary Hamachi adapter (for me, the 2 network adapters hamachi installs is Hamachi Network Adapter AND Hamachi Network Adapter #2 - Rename the one without the # in the description).  I got away without renaming / touching the other one.

be sure to rename the right one with the correct format.

Re: Failed to connect to the network adapter. Peer is not accessible via VPN.

Thanks Bernardo Dias, your method from ‎11-03-2009 02:04 PM also resolved my Hamachi issue when switching between my home and my work Wifi network today, on Windows 8.1 today. Phew!

I can't seem to link to his thread so his steps were:

"Steps:

1) Kill the process "hamachi-2.exe"

2) Disable and enable the hamachi network adapter
3) Start again the service "LogMeIn Hamachi 2.0 Tunneling engine" from the control panel
4) Start the Hamachi client from the Start menu"

Not sure what's going on.

Created a new Hamachi network. Can join it with any PC I've tried, and use it in a normal fashion, from any internet connection I've tried... bar one computer.

It joins the network, but gets a little triangle-exclamation warning next to any other computers on the network. If you go into the Properties of any of the other computers, it brings up the Peer Properties box with "error" in the VPN status section. If you hit details, it tells you to look on the Settings tab. On the Settings tab the status is "network adapter error" and the details say "Failed to connect to the network adapter. Peer is not accessible via VPN.".

It can ping 127.0.0.1 and use the internet or anything on the local network without a problem. It cannot ping it's own Hamachi address or any other PC on the Hamachi network, nor use any of the other functions like Browse. Basically everything works but Hamachi.

As mentioned, I've connected several computers to the network from three internet connections. All of them play nice but this one PC.Smiley LOL

It hadn't been fired up in a while and had an expired OneCare on it. I've uninstalled that. I've tried it with the Windows Firewall completely disabled with no change to any of the symptoms.

What do I do?

Re: Failed to connect to the network adapter. Peer is not accessible via VPN.

I had the exact problem after installing version-2-latest over an old version-1.x (yes, was not updated for a very long time) and this is how I fixed it...

1. ended ALL hamachi processes and services

2. in computer management (mmc), under device manager, un-installed hamachi network adapter

3. un-installed all versions of hamachi, but, in the un-installation wizard selected option to preserve user settings and files

4. re-installed the program

Re: Failed to connect to the network adapter. Peer is not accessible via VPN.

I have seen this solution on YouTube. It seems as if something in the Device Manager has a Hamachi network adapter missing. I still have it inmy Device Manager, and still have the same annoying problem.

Same problem under Vista x64, Works fine on XPProSp3. It started with upgrade to new version (2.0.1.64) from 1.x.x.x something

Update: Ok seems that the updgrade just removed the Hamachi network adapter and failed to add it again. There is other thread about it aswell in same forums.

/logmein/board/message?board.id=11&thread.id=665

with no info in it how to fix it

Update2:Uninstalled and reinstalled, installation managed to create missing adapter so its fixed. B4 reinstalling i disabled all other VPN adapters (not sure if that helped)
