Re: Hamachi Mobile for iOS and Android (BETA)

I'm using the service on a Motorola RAZR HD MAXX on Verizon. I can't seem to connent when I'm on cellular data, 4G LTE. On wifi I can usually connect but it always disconnected after about 10 seconds.

Re: Hamachi Mobile for iOS and Android (BETA)

I am also having the same issue and cannot save as the "IPSec Xauth RSA".

Also, I have the LogmeIn/Hamachi software running in a DMZ environment with its own router connected to directly to my Fios Router.  Would this cause any issues?

THank you.

Re: Hamachi Mobile for iOS and Android (BETA)

I have tried to set up Hamachi VPN on Motorola Droid Razr and Samsung GSII. Both devices connect but have issues as follows:

Razr - disconnects after short period or when web browser tries to load pages

GSII - no web pages load after VPN connection is established and therefore need to disconnect VPN to browse web again.

Any ideas why this might be happening?

Re: Hamachi Mobile for iOS and Android (BETA)

For the disconnection, it is probably a carrier issue. Try using the VPN from a WiFi connection, see if it makes a difference.  Usually does.

For the no-browse, do you have a Gateway network setup, or is it just a Meshed or Hub and Spoke?

Re: Hamachi Mobile for iOS and Android (BETA)

Just found out about this feature today. Installed it on my iPhone and it seems to work well. I will be traveling in about 2 weeks, so that will give me a good opportunity to test this feature.

Unfortunately, I have almost no time to test the features till August 2nd as I am studying for the California Bar Exam. But a quick check of my IP after running the config file and setting the VPN to use my desktop as a proxy, the program seems to be working fine. When I connect through my phone's internet connection, the displayed IP belongs to my desktop.

Again, thanks for the feature! I will definitely try it out in my post-bar travels next month! If it works well, I would be more than willing to subscribe to it as a premium feature once it is released.

Edit: Minor Issues

1. iPhone Mail application does not work with VPN enabled (yahoo, gmal, etc).

2. VPN needs to be turned on for every use. If phone is not used for a while VPN connection turns off and does not automatically turn on again.

Re: Hamachi Mobile for iOS and Android (BETA)

Sorry for the delay in my response.

To clarify, I am usinging a mesh network and I have tried connecting over both 3G and WiFi and I still getting the above mentioned issues.

I have recently tried to connect my android tablet to my VPN too and the issue is similar to the GSII. The VPN connection stays active but when trying to connect to any website the page tries to load untill eventually timing out.

Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Hamachi Mobile for iOS and Android (BETA)

Please try using a Gateway network, as that is the only one that allows browsing of anything network related beyond the other Hamachi Client.

Re: Hamachi Mobile for iOS and Android (BETA)

I'm at the point of setting up the vpn on my Galaxy sIII.  Advanced IPsec VPN I'm assuming is the next step.

Then 'add vpn connection'

I'm asked for a 'key store password'

Help!

Re: Hamachi Mobile for iOS and Android (BETA)

I think I installed everything correctly. When I try to connect, it says timeout after a little while. Any ideas?

Re: Hamachi Mobile for iOS and Android (BETA) - iPhone and Bonjour

I was hoping this would help me with Itunes.

Indeed the preview does work. I can connect my iphone/ipad no problem.

But still the bonjour messages seem to go over the VPN and the Iphone is still blind to the itunes server

I recently tried a "gateway" network.

I set my home PC up as the "gateway" Win 8. I had to download the "labs" version of the client because it is win 8

The phone logs into the network and my router gives it a DHCP address.

Now the phone and the PC are on the same LAN and same subnet.

For example, the PC is at 192.168.1.139 and the phone is (over VPN) at 192.168.1.135

Each can ping each other.

In theory the Itunes Bonjour services should be able to talk to each other as they do when the phone and the PC are on the same actual network (I confirmed this first)

However the phone never sees the Itunes library.

Is there something about the hamachi setup that I am missing that filters bonjour even though they are one the "same" subnet?

I've even played with bonjour beacon to publish the PC's address. Although this should be superflous because they appear to be on the subnet. I first started playing with bonjour beacon when I set up Hamchi as a "mesh" network and figured it would work around the phone and the pc having different addresses. It did not. So I moved to "gateway" to make things more simple.
