Disable Quick Reminder to Change Master Password

Hi,

Every single time I login LastPass using my master password an annoying message appears with the below dialog:

===================================================
LastPass Icon
A QUICK REMINDER
We detected that your LastPass master password hasn't been changed in a long time.
To keep your account safe, we recommend changing it.
[LATER] [CHANGE NOW]
===================================================

My LassPass Master Password is very long and safe and  I do not wish to change my password.

At least you should give users the option to disable this reminder always than user is aware of risk that implies.

Please, take a look on this cause it is quite annoying being closing this pop-up every time you log in.

Thanks

Re: Disable Quick Reminder to Change Master Password

If you set your PBKDF2 password iterations to a different value, that will force a vault re-encryption and show up as master password change.

Re: Disable Quick Reminder to Change Master Password

I appreciate this workaround, but please, logmein, fix the problem and respect my right to ignore your one-size-fits-all assumption about my need to change my master password. Thank you.

Re: Disable Quick Reminder to Change Master Password

I agree wholeheartedly with the original poster. The reminder does not make any sense at all.

LASTpass. The last password you will need to remember. This means I purposely chose a very complex password, it required me time to study it and then remember it. If you push people into changing password, they are going to end up choosing an easier one to remember, which is exactly the opposite of what you should be aiming for.

Re: Disable Quick Reminder to Change Master Password

I've gone through every Account Setting I can find and I do not have the Security page shown on the link, so there is no place that I can change the password iterations. Is this an option for paid subscribers only, or has there been a change since the help page was created?  I'm intentionally NOT changing my password  to insure that my wife has access if I am incapacitated.

Re: Disable Quick Reminder to Change Master Password

Hi @ljk167

As the owner of this post, I was able to make the workaround.

I will try to describe where I found the option (sorry for my English, I'm Spanish) and I'm not sure about names in English cause I use spanish version:

- LastPass icon -> Open my vault -> Account settings (Left column) -> General Tab-> Show Advanced Settings -> Under Security part you will find Password Iterations.

Hope it could help.

Regards,

Re: Disable Quick Reminder to Change Master Password

Hello ljk167,

hubmania posted the menu path to iterations. I thought I would suggest you take a look at Emergency Access. Probably the solution you want for your wife if you are hit by a bus. I know it was for me. 🙂 Open your vault and look at the left hand menu. You should see an item with a life preserver. If the menu is expanded, you'll also see the words "Emergency Access" with the life preserver.

Re: Disable Quick Reminder to Change Master Password

Thanks, that worked.  I don't think I looked at the bottom of the page for "Advanced Settings".
