Where do I set to record in MKV / VP8 format especially in the Admin center? I didn't see this option anywhere. Unable to record video in MRLE format We want to record sessions with LogMeIn. Sometimes we want to share recorded videos with customers. Some customers have security restrictions preventing them from running AVICodec.msi (also, as far as built in apps, the codec only works for Windows Media Player Legacy not the new Windows Movies & TV/Photos/Media Player apps). Not all customers use Windows and it's just plain bad customer service to require the customer to install something just to play a video. We are fine recording using Microsoft RLE (MRLE) (even though it has significantly reduced quality and, as far as built in apps, only works with Windows Media Player Legacy). But I have encountered the following issue: 1. Set AVI -> Microsoft RLE (MRLE) for a group in the Administration Center and save the change. 2. Make sure to log out of LogMeIn Technician Console to make sure the changes have applied. 3. Start a new session, install applet, connect to it, etc... 4. Click Screen Recording. 5. The output file is still in RASC format. I know this because a machine that doesn't have the codec installed can't play it in Windows Media Player Legacy. I also run ffprobe on the file and it shows that the file has rasc encoding but if I run it on a file that has been converted to MRLE from RCREC with LogMeIn Rescue AVI Converter (installed via AVIConvert.msi) it will run in Windows Media Player Legacy and ffprobe doesn't show RASC encoding. I am able to configure a group to record in RCREC format and convert to MRLE with the LogMeIn Rescue AVI converter, but I would like to avoid requiring our technicians to do this process for every file. The AVI converter seems to crash, produce unreadable file, or produce a very distorted video if using a video in RASC format as input and converting to MRLE. I know ffmpeg is able to transcode RASC to other formats, but I'm not sure if we need permission from LogMeIn or some other party to legally be able to do that. Either way I can't install ffmpeg on our workstations or create a server to submit ffmpeg jobs to. It would be very nice if setting to record with MRLE format actually worked. Re: Unattended Access logs out Windows when remote control stops GlennDThe documentation in https://support.logmeinrescue.com/rescue/help/about-disruption-free-unattended-experience appears to be inaccurate. If an account is signed out and you remote in and login with LogMeIn and then end the remote control session or the session the account will log out rather than lock the screen. If the screen was locked rather than signed out before remoting, logging in and then subsequently ending the session or remote control session will lock as expected. I am not a master account holder so I don't have permission to go through the unattended installer. Even if I went through the process to get access and to set up the unattended installer it's not clear that if I were to disable screen locking: 1. it would stop signing out from occurring. 2. If there was a way to keep screen lock but have no sign out. Why can't an option be added to configure this behavior for normal unattended clients to just lock the screen instead of signing out? Why is the standalone installer required for this? With the standalone msi installer I think we could compromise by requiring the technician to manually lock the screen after a session, but it is important that after creating the unattended msi installer that LogMeIn does not sign out at the end of the session. Is it possible to paste files in remote session without file manager session? Some of our workflows include copying many small files to customers. It often takes a long time to load the Logmein file manager and it would be convenient to copy files directly in the session. In my tests (with separate computer running applet) this didn't appear to be possible. Is there a way to enable this? SolvedRe: As regular Administrator how to apply permissions to subgroup KateGIt wouldn't be just a quick apply to all, it would be a two step process like it is in the settings tab. You apply to the group (apply to subgroup is greyed out) and then you apply to the subgroups. I mean if it's such a worry about no going back why isn't the same fear applied to the settings tab where you can make that mistake (after first saving for the parent group)? But as a side tangent, I would say it would be a good idea to have the ability to roll back a change to a subgroup. EDIT: But besides that it's ridiculous there is no ability to do this. Because each sub group is actually its own group I now have to have a spreadsheet and keep track of all the permissions and have my team and I remember to update it whenever we make a change so that people in a subgroup all don't have or do have a permission management requests. Additionally there's conflicting workflows being encouraged here. There's this whole parent group/child group paradigm I feel is being marketed and going on with the user tree and the settings tab tries to accommodate that and then I set up all my groups in a parent child relationship to make it easy to apply settings and then it turns out there's this permission tab that acts completely different from the way the rest of the site is trying to present itself. Re: As regular Administrator how to apply permissions to subgroup Something to add: I see that there is a button apply settings in the Settings tab to all subgroups, but this button is not available for permissions in the Organization tab. As regular Administrator how to apply permissions to subgroup Let's say I am just an administrator and I have technician group A -> technician group B -> technician group C with A being the top technician group and group B under A and C under B. All have technicians assign to them. I tried setting a permission in group A and I found that B and C didn't inherit those permissions nor did it silently inherit permission. I had to enable the permission I wanted on each group to get the LogMeIn console (with technician login in each group) to reflect those changes. If subgroups don't inherit settings is there at least a way to apply settings to subgroups? Re: What does Unattended Search tab do? What you say makes it sound like the Unattended Accessible tab (not Unattended Search tab) currently only shows unattended computers created/set up via LogMeIn rescue sessions and not also unattended installations created via the MSI installer. Is this assertion correct? For anybody else looking at this thread and thinking that the previous response in thread looks like they suggest that the Unattended Search tab only searches installations created via the MSI installer I have found in my testing that the Unattended Search tab does indeed search for unattended computers created/set up via LogMeIn rescue sessions, but I wasn't able to confirm MSI installations as it's not set up for my organization yet and I have no access to do so. Re: What does Unattended Search tab do? Thank you for the training video. But I see when the instructor opened the Unattended Access window that there is no Unattended Search tab so there was no explanation on it. Re: What does Unattended Search tab do? Thank you for this information. Why would I use this tab over the the filter search in Unattended Accessible? The latter allows me to see all the computers and filter in real time? Does the filter search actually slow down when the computer count is very high?
