Fresh New Look Coming March 23, 2015
Hi there, GoToAssist community!
We've got some exciting news to share with you today. Over the past few months, our team of developers and user experience pros has been hard at work refreshing the look of GoToAssist Service Desk. The new design sets the stage for some exciting new features (watch for these later this year), and gets us one step closer to achieving the finest customer experience imaginable across the entire GoToAssist product lineup. Our goal is to make your job easier, and we believe the fresh new design does just that.
The new design rolls out system-wide on March 23, 2015.
About the new design:
New colors, fonts, and spacing
Although the layout hasn't changed (more on that in a minute), we've enhanced the design on multiple fronts.
Colors – A brand new color scheme helps delineate key areas of the product so you can focus on what’s most important.

Fonts – Varied font sizes improve readability and emphasize important labels and headings.

Spacing – Ample, uniform spacing adds volume to the design and simplifies scanning so you can quickly find what you need.

Same familiar layout
Don’t worry – all the features you depend on are exactly where they were before. We’ve got some really great ideas brewing, but we’ve kept the same familiar layout for now.
Get a sneak peek
If you want to check out the new design right away, it’s easy to do. In GoToAssist Service Desk, go to: Configure > Account-Wide Settings > Labs, and then check the “Enable the new look” box. Otherwise, we’ll take care of it for you automatically on March 23.
Creating great products is what all of us here at Citrix aim to do. Our hope is that this new design will make your job easier by helping you focus on what’s important and get things done faster. We’re really excited about this, and hope you love the new design as much as we do.
If you have feedback or suggestions, we want to hear from you. Reply to us here, use the Feedback link inside the product (top right), or email our support team anytime at support@gotoassist.com.

- Luke Grimstrup11 years agoRetired GoTo ContributorGood spotting! The task assignee is still there you just need to expand the task to see it. We're working on a fix at the moment to address the issue.
- Marc Ceaser11 years agoNew MemberI encountered a glitch with the new view. Task assignees aren't showing in the task view. All of the tasks in the screenshot below have users assigned when you open the task.
- Bcshay11 years agoActive ContributorIssue with Chrome. Clicking on the Priority Matrix brings up the matrix but the only way I can close it is to select a priority level. It looks like the X in the top right is cut off.

- Luke Grimstrup11 years agoRetired GoTo ContributorInteresting! Noted, and will be fixed in one of the next releases for that feature.
- Luke Grimstrup11 years agoRetired GoTo ContributorWe have rolled out the new look for all users, and at the same time incorporated a lot of the feedback here, particularly around contrast, readability and spacing issues.
Spacing Issues:
For dashboards, we have decreased the spacing between rows and increased the contrast on the hover state. These updates won't appear on the Incident Dashboard if you have 'Customizable Dashboard Columns' turned on, but should appear when we do the next release of that feature.
Within the record pages we have also decreased some of the spacing, and also eliminated the need for custom fields to always begin on a new row (underneath Incident Type and Category).
Contrast Issues:
Places where there is light text on a light background have also been addressed. This includes hover states, grey headings, the right hand side menu and many other places we uncovered once we had started looking.
Readability Issues:
Readability has also been improved the body text was a shade of dark grey. We have since reverted this back to a solid black which we believe should also help.
Thanks again for all the feedback throughout us rolling out the new look. It's really helped us identify and nail down the places that need improving before we turned the new look on for everyone. - jason111111 years agoActive ContributorHey guys
Spotted a bug though it's probably already been picked up.
If you have any priority above 9 and you sort your incident dashboard by priority, the priority's above 9 are not sorted numerically. If you're already aware of this, cool beans! - jason111111 years agoActive ContributorHi Jackie, from what I understand, there will be a legacy option after the 23rd which will allow you to retain the old look. For how long this will remain after 23rd, I'm not sure.
Regarding the dashboard changes, it is totally customisable now. Click the little cog and select what you would like to view. You can also change column widths and have things looking just the way you like it (albeit no control over vertical spacing). This is one aspect of the new design that really is a fantastic improvement IMO. Hope that helps. - Jackie Bennion11 years agoNew MemberThe issues that we have with the new look are all here as detailsed by other users. The team don't like the spacing or the colours and there seem to be changes to the dashboard sort options. As it is a global setting I can't turn on the new look for myself to get some examples and I would not be popular if I were to swith it on while people are working. Please try and get these issues sorted before the 23rd or hold off the upgrade until they are done. Suggesting that browers be set to 75% would not work here because I've noticed that some team members have their browsers set to 110+
