Network firewall and download exceptions

Our network firewall (Palo Alto) blocks .EXE downloads for obvious reasons.  I've whitelisted several of the GoTo sites so our users can grab the client if needed, but the automatic updates seem to be failing.  I don't see a log file for where it's trying to grab the file, which is named, "G2MCoreInstExtractor_16180_16328.exe".

Can someone let me know where these product updates are hosted so I can whitelist that URL?

Thanks.

Rich

  • UPDATE: The downloads come from getgocdn.com. Whitelisting that domain for downloads resolved the issue.

        Hi,

        this is a nice summary.

Is there a more detailed one which lists the targets for the diffrent ports?

The rules for 443 may be configured on a web proxy while others are configured via packet filters.

Are the domains tables meant to go into the proxy only?

        Regards

        Carsten
