g2avrs.exe Event 1000 Errors every minute in Event Viewer - Win 10 Pro

My old post on this topic has been deleted, but the issue continues, so ...

On Win 10 Pro in a Dell Optiplex 7060 at work, my company installed GoToMyPC so I could access this work computer from home or elsewhere, and I really like GTMP.

However, in that PC's Event Viewer, there is an Error for the process g2avrs.exe every minute

What does that process do, and how do we either fix the error or get that process to go to sleep?

The error is the following, with changes to some of the long character strings in each Error:

Faulting application name: g2avrs.exe, version: 2023.7.0.3818, time stamp: 0x64bf8c47
Faulting module name: g2avrs.exe, version: 2023.7.0.3818, time stamp: 0x64bf8c47

Thanks.

Hi glnzglnz welcome back to the Community.

We do have your old report, it appears we were unable to recreate the experience. We have provided the information here and await next steps from the team. Thanks for your patience.

KateG - this continues - every minute there is an Error in Event Viewer for g2avrs.exe.  1,440 times per day.

Is your team doing anything?  My PC's (host) version of GTMP is 2023.9.3854.

And why are you not telling us what g2avrs.exe does anyway?

        Hey glnzglnz,

It appears that certain LogMeIn Antivirus installation files may have become corrupted on your system, with "g2avrs.exe" being the associated process.

To address this issue, kindly proceed with uninstalling the antivirus software and then reinstalling it. This should effectively resolve the problem.

Should the error persist even after a reinstallation and system restart, please consider uninstalling the application once more. Additionally, make sure to thoroughly eliminate any residual files before initiating the LogMeIn Antivirus installation process again. This approach will likely rectify the issue and ensure a clean and effective reinstallation of LMI AV.

  • I am experiencing exactly the same issue - I suspect it is slowing other applications on my desktop. What is this file doing? If I can't resolve fast I will be removing GTMP sadly...
