Webinar Registration Link now leads to my cloud recording?
Hey there. If someone clicks on the GTW-registration link after the webinar has ended, they can view the recording. But i dont want that ... So, how can I prevent customers from seeing my recordings?...

Please enable some sort of end date for webinars so that I no longer continue to receive email registrations for a webinar that has already happened. There must be some way to disable that registration URL or close the webinar. I continue to recieve notifications of people that register for a webinar that took place in July 2018. Somehow folks are finding the URLs and trying to register. Please disable URLs for past webinars or add an 'end date' to the webinar that will no longer allow registrations.

I do not want my attendees to have access to the video of the webinar after the session ends. Yet, in this new "upgrade" of GTW, it seems that this option - After Session Video - was enabled. Is this the default?
My urgent question is how to stop the attendees of a recent webinar who are now accessing the video? Would removing the video work? When I try to "unselect" the video, the name remains in the After Session Video option box which I believe means it is still there as the option.

I learned today that if you use GoToWebinar to send an email to registered attendees that did not attend, they automatically get a link to the webinar recording. We do not want this to be automated. We use on demand when we want to share our recordings, because we need to add the attendee evaluations to the the Survey feature. WE DO NOT WANT TO AUTOMATICALLY SHARE OUR RECORDINGS FOR PROPRIETARY REASONS, whether we send a post webinar email or not.
If this is not corrected, we will remove our business from GoToWebinar under both of our licenses.

Hi,
Soon wee plan to make recording attachments to follow-up events optional, where you can set the default as 'disabled'.

Hi there,
You should be able to disable this on the event level. Go into an upcoming event, click the registration section and you will see that you can select "after webinar video" Make sure there is nothing there. Also make sure that your follow up email doesn't have a video selected. That choice is below the text box on the editing page.
You should also go into a previous webinar (registration section) and make sure that you don't have "after webinar video" assigned to the event.
And finally, delete your recording from the cloud. That should take care of your issue!

Hi,
If you are using GoToWebinar Cloud Recording, then you should simply disable the option in the webinar's settings for 'After the webinar ends registrants will be brought to the recording' and 'Include the recording link in the follow up email'.

Hi,
this cant really be 'disabled'. I can select a video or keep it empty, but there is no option to enable/ disable that feature.
How can we stop that behaviour but keep using cloud recording?
Thanks

Thank you. I am using GTW recording. Initially, I was not able to deselect the option of attendees getting the video. I thought perhaps that once the webinar was over and the link had been sent out, it could not be recalled. However, after logging out and rebooting, I see the video is no longer listed.

Under the old GotoWebinar interface, there was a way (under "Manage Recordings") to remove the registration link without actually removing the recoring. Then, I could share the video, which had teh effect of generating a new link. We maintain control over the recordings, but the original invitations to attend the live presentation are public. The goal is to inactivate that old link, which will persist on social media.
Thanks.

Go to the webinar you wish to adjust and click to expand the REGISTRATION section. There you will find the After the Video section where you should be able to click and REMOVE the recording from the webinar registration.
If you wish, you could add any video here, like a marketing video for your company.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm all set now.
- Smita Patel9 years agoNew MemberWe have only recently started using GoToWebinar and have been tentative about offering our recordings online.
We did record the last two webinars. But we have not yet shared the link for either of them. But I just looked at the recording report and found that both webinars have been viewed by people I don't know and never shared the link with. They also do not have access to our GoTo account. So how did they access the recordings?- Smita Patel9 years agoNew MemberThanks Tom! I just got off the phone with Jonathan who helped solve the mystery.
There is a setting buried in Webinar History under Recordings that apparently defaulted to "Share recording with new registrants." So people who found the registration link after the webinar ended and clicked on it had the option to register and were then shown the video regardless of whether we chose to publicly share the link or not.
Jonathan showed me how to change that option. I thought I'd post the details here so others are aware of it. It could be a nice feature if you are sure you want to share the video. But otherwise, folks may want to make sure it's not on. I appreciate your responsiveness.- AshC8 years agoRetired GoTo Contributor
Nita19 If you also included the webinar recording in followup Emails to Attendees, then they can easily share the recording link with anyone.
If you don't want the recording available, you may delete it from the My Recordings section of your online account.
- Smita Patel9 years agoNew MemberHi Tom, Trying to call now. I did call the support line initially, but was told to share my concerns here.
- Tom_W9 years agoRetired GoTo ContributorHello Smita, no one should have access to your recordings if you have not shared them and we are unaware of any issues that would allow such a thing. We would very much like to take a closer look at this situation with you. Would you be able to call into our technical support so we may take a closer look?
