Expand Usable Extension Number Range?

I'm am just starting with Grasshopper.   I have searched the community and tried to use the AI agent both via help agent and case creation agent. I"m not getting an answer to my question. 

I don't see a way to submit an email query and the guidance for support is unclear if my case will ever be seen by a human.  So I've resubmitted the case bia #21230042

Maybe the community can answer this essential question:

Given:

  • I have already assigned the extension numbers 700 - 799
  • I have not used the Department numbers 1-6, and don't intend to use them. 
  • I need to add another 30 extensions. 

Questions:

  1. Does my need to add 30 extensions for 130 total extension exceed the capability of grasshopper?
  2. Do I need to build a NEW account with grass hopper in order to gain additional extension numbers - with all the problems that creates. 
  3. The AI agent said I can use the range 900-999 but I don't see any mechanism or way to unlock those extensions. Is there one?

Is grasshopper unable to meet that need?

  • Resolved - Update:  I ended up calling tech support, presenting the question to the AI Agent that was unable to answer the question. The AI Agent then offered the option to connect to tech support. After about a 15 minute wait I reached a very helpful and knowledgeable agent who was able to help with this question. 

    The bottom line is:
    Yes, it's possible. To implement you need to contact support. Support then makes system configuration changes for your account that reassigns extension ranges from 700-799 to 1000-1999. Existing extensions are convert to 10XX, but the additional range up to 1999 is opened up for you. So some planning will be required as you may need to make changes to email signatures, business cards (if you use them), and grasshopper menuing system.

    Thanks for the update, if you want to add more extensions, discussing your plan with support would be the way to go, which is why I opened up the case. Sorry I couldn't provide more help here.

    KateG  - Thanks for the update. I had an earlier CASE number from the other day when I called and got no resolution. I did this one today to get the case number - true - i didn't bother calling because I expected the low value answer. 

    Before I setup more numbers and extensions, i just want to be sure I have an accurate handle on the potential upper limit. We'll probably use 80 extensions to start - but one never knows about growth and adds of new business or special extensions.
