Hi Virginie, Yes, if you are using your mobile device, you can make calls using either WiFi or cellular data with Grasshopper.

Hi,
I have another question for you then. :) Can we get a call on that 855 either with wifi or cellular data? In other words, it is not dependent on our Wifi / Internet plan in the office, correct? If we were to lose the internet plan, we could still receive calls if we have some regular cellular data?

That is correct, and if you are using Grasshopper on a computer with our desktop app, it just needs a stable internet connection. So you could get rid of your landline and just use the desktop app and your mobile phones (which do need an active number).

Hi Glenn,
Thank you for your answer. So that would mean our 855 number is not dependant on any phone line we could have, correct? And no landline is actually transferred to that 855 number?

Hi Virginie,
Grasshopper numbers are considered virtual numbers, when someone dials it the call is routed to your existing personal phone number which is kept private. There is an option to transfer your existing number to Grasshopprt as well.
