Setting GH as default call redirecting app
We are getting a pop up message on our iPhones today that say to "Set Grasshopper as your default call redirecting app" and "Can't complete call" because "Grasshopper must be set as the default call redirecting app to make outbound calls." We received no information from GH about this (which is very frustrating). If we set this up on our phones (which naturally, we also use for our personal calls with our personal contact lists), then will our normal phone app not be used when we try to make regular (personal) outbound calls (i.e., when we WANT to use our regular phone app)? What exactly does setting this up DO, and NOT DO relative to our phones' default phone app?
When something like this is rolled out, it needs to be documented and explained by Grasshopper. Businesses that rely on phone calls don't need surprises that prevent us from making outbound calls!
Hi drseidel, Welcome to the Community
The pop-up is related to Android users on operating systems 15 and above. The setting is required only when making calls from the Grasshopper app.
It was added because Android 15 users using the Grasshopper app wanted their customers to see the Grasshopper number, not their cell phone number. This will not affect regular personal outbound or inbound calls.
I've shared your feedback with the team, thanks for sharing it here.

Sorry, not iPhones. It's an Android phone. Anyone else have this message pop-up?
