Azure AD Sync for Rescue vs LogMeIn for automatic user provisioning

Hi,

Currently planning to use Rescue with our Active Directory.

The setup we have is a local on-premise AD, synced to Office 365 using AAD Connect.

I want to avoid any form of setup of Logmein Rescue on-premise and therefore was looking to set automatic user provisioning directly from Azure AD, using this link:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/saas-apps/logmein-provisioning-tutorial

But then I also came across this link which suggests downloading an on-premise setup file to configure the sync:

https://community.logmein.com/t5/Rescue-News/Azure-AD-Sync-for-Rescue-is-Available-on-Beta-New-Features-Fixes/ba-p/283563

Question:

I'm slightly confused over the difference of both those links.  Can I simply just use the first link to configure automatic user provisioning as well as setting up the Technician groups and ignore the second link (which in fact is still in beta).

Lastly, what is the main difference between  these articles?

Many Thanks

AJ
