I need to be able to copy data from document on my desktop and paste it into a screen/document on client side of the session
- GlennD12 years agoGoTo ManagerHi Dan,
Currently you can copy and paste text through the chat feature, or collaborate by giving others mouse and keyboard control. - Dan5112 years agoNew MemberHi,
That is not what I want. I want to be able (like WebEX) to cut some text from a file on my desktop and then paste it into a screen session (like putty) or shell (vi), so that I can quickly pass information, commands to the client I am serving. The Chat feature does not do me any good, in that sense and it is cumbersome. Is there going to be a fix/enhancement, that will allow this. I have to decide which application to keep(goTomeeting or webex). I like gotomeeting, but the lack of this functionality makes it difficult. - GlennD12 years agoGoTo ManagerSorry, I understand that is not what you are asking for, just wanted to be clear about what is available currently. I'm not aware of plans to add this ability currently so I am going to change this topic to an Idea.
If you wouldn't mind could you post more details about your use case, and perhaps why using keyboard and mouse control to enter text directly isn't a good solution for you? - Matt Willems12 years agoNew MemberAnywhere I need to manipulate text or files, copy and paste is the way to do it. If I'm working with a document that i can't send to a client, but I need to get part of it (code samples are a great example) onto their system I'm not going to type out dozens of lines of code. Pasting it into the chat is better, but adds a lot of time and complexity if I have to ask the other party to paste strings into a text box every time, especially if there are many.
- NicholasWong12 years agoNew MemberIf you guys don't add this feature before our current subscription period runs out (3 more months), we're switching to other more capable/sensible products, like TeamViewer.
- Trent Richardso11 years agoNew MemberYes, this is an obvious and critical feature required in any collaberation meeting. It is a sad oversight at GTM if the product managers didn't see this need and apparently still don't see it. Or don't have the technical knowledge to fix it. It is 2013, we should be able to cut/paste. If you think the 'chat' is covering the need, then you don't understand meetings.
- Trent Richardso11 years agoNew MemberThat is garbage. The product needs a real cut and paste.
- Tim Parr11 years agoNew MemberI too need the ability to copy/paste to/from remote machines. My company uses GTM largely in a support role. We, like others here, are debating a move away from GoToMeeting to WebEx or TeamViewer which seem better suited for support.
Question for Citrix:
Are there any plans to add this capability? If so is there an ETA?
Come on Citrix, please give us some help here. - Bernard111 years agoNew MemberI would vote for this feature also. Interesting to hear WebEx has it, I may take a look at that for our company.

Adding my vote to this as well. WebEx, Connectwise, TeamViewer - most of your major competitors offer the ability to copy and paste across a remote session. Using chat is not a viable option because there's a limit to the amount of text you can paste at a given time. The fact that you don't have this basic functionality is honestly a major problem.
- Vlad1111 years agoNew MemberWe have had WebEx at our firm for over 14 years and have decided to switch to GoToMeeting because of costs.
Come to find out the simple ability to Copy/Paste in a meeting is not available.
WHAT?
Alot of the support our firm provides involves copying over scripts and other information.
Pretty frustrating.
And still no response from Citrix.
Way to listen to your customers.
