When I click on GTM link it always starts in web app, I have to manually switch to desktop application. I have tried clearing the cookies and local storages for this site but the issue persists. Is there a way to solve this?
I am using Chrome on Mac

Thank you. I've been in contact with some of our developers and there is a 'flag' stored in your web browser that lets us know you have the desktop software and to launch it. We need to trigger the flag to be set again so I have created a test meeting that does not allow for the Web App. The meeting will not be live but going through the join process should do the trick: https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/274388037
Please try this before your next real GoToMeeting.
Sorry for any join flow confusion there.
Try this automatic removal tool on your mac, and then when you join again in Chrome, make sure you always allow the GoTo Launcher to kickstart the desktop software download.
An alternative to this would be using the GoTo software itself to manually enter the 9-digit ID associated with that meeting, bypassing the website all together.
Thanks. I tried that but that just uninstalls the desktop app. After that when you click on the meeting link from google calendar it still opens the meeting in Chrome. Upon clicking "Switch to desktop" it prompts you to install and then run desktop app. So basically, clicking the link always opens in chrome not desktop.
Hi @parasjain01
Can you please post the first part of the meeting link you are clicking on? You can edit out the 9 digit meeting ID from it. We do have some meeting links that are formatted to run the meeting in the browser.
Hi Glen,
Thanks for your response. Our typical meeting URL looks like this https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/xyzabc

Works perfectly Glen. Thank you very much for your help. I thought I deleted all the cookies and all items from my local storage for that site, I guess I missed something. Anyway, looks like this issue is resolved now. Thanks a lot.
Hi Glenn,
I am having the same issue with GTM always loading in my browser. I tried uninstalling and re-installing, and it did not solve the issue.
I tried clicking your link https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/274388037 , but the meeting is not active. Can you help me to resolve this issue?
Thanks!
