Certificate for launch.getgo.com

I tried to connect to a remote computer using GoToMyPC, which usually works without a problem.  Today, I got a Security Alert:

Unable to determine if the security certificate for download server launch.getgo.com has been revoked?

Do you want to download from this server?

Is there some problem with the certificate?

Re: Certificate for launch.getgo.com

Hey @jkerman ,

If Windows is not automatically updating root certificates, it can lead to such issue.

Here's a step-by-step guide to resolving this problem:

  1. Download the DigiCert Certificate Utility:

  2. Run the Utility:

    • Execute the downloaded utility.
    • Navigate to the "Tools" menu and select "AutoRootUpdate."
  3. Adjust AutoRootUpdate Setting:

    • Change the setting to 'Disabled.'
    • Confirm the selection with 'Yes' (set to 'Disabled').

By following these steps, you can effectively address the root certificate auto-update issue on Windows. This solution aims to mitigate potential problems associated with the automatic update process. If you encounter any further challenges, feel free to reach out for additional assistance.

Could you please also share more details?

  1. A screenshot
  2. Which operating system
  3. Which browsers ( along with version of browser)?

Re: Certificate for launch.getgo.com

Not sure if this is a way to include a screenshot, but here is a link to a file:  [no!! this link did not work.  Tell me how to send a screenshot and I will.]

It's Windows 10 Home, version 22H2.

And I'm not sure which browser I was using.  It was either

Brave, Version 1.61.120 Chromium: 120.0.6099.234 (Official Build) (64-bit)

or Chrome, Version 120.0.6099.225 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Re: Certificate for launch.getgo.com

On Windows, you can use snipping tool to take the screenshot, save it as a file and upload it here.
There must be some error there.

Was it ever working on this machine before?
Please try other browsers and machines and see if the error persists.

I am on Windows 11 have tried the same flow from latest version of three browsers Edge, Chrome and Brave and it worked for me.  Also we have not heard from others reporting the same issue today.

So I am guessing its something to do with network configuration of this machine.

You can also directly try to access this URL to validate the certificate.

Is the time setting of your computer "automatic" ?

Sometime this can happen when your machine is either in past or in future 🙂 . means if its not automatically detecting time zone and current time.

Re: Certificate for launch.getgo.com

to take the screenshot you could also

1) Press the Print Screen key on your keyboard ( Prt Sc or similar shortfom )

2) Paste it here.

Worst case click a picture from phone and then open this forum from phone and post it.
Look forward to seeing your screenshot.

Curious what could cause this 🤞

Thank you for the responses.  First, here is an example of the error message:

Also, I'm going to try to apply the suggestion by Abhishek Yadav.
