Cannot install Hamachi

I can't uninstall Hamachi after installation. Hamachi.msi gives out:
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A dll required..."

Can you help me please?

That was helpful - your tip led me to a solution.

 

Runing the MSI from the desktop, using your suggested command symantics:

 

C:\Users\Sean\Desktop> msiexec.exe /i hamachi.msi /l*v "C:\Users\Sean\Desktop\hamachiinstall.log"

 

Which produced an error log that pointed to the file causing the intallation to fail.  To avoid posting an exceptionally long log file, I've include only the relevant section of the log file:

As you can see, A file located at C:\Users\Sean\AppData\Local\Temp\MSI28BE.tmp produced a  fatal error.  I deleted this file, as well as the rest of the contents of the AppData Temp folder.  

 

Upon running the installation again there were no installation issues whatsoever, and Hamachi now runs perfectly.

SOLUTION SUMMARY:


If anyone else is experiencing the same installation issue, with the error message:

"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run.  Contact your support personnel or package vendor."

I recomend deleting the contents of your application Temp folder located at:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\

 

This folder contains the reminants from previous installations.  It's contents should be safe to delete.

have you try to download hamachi installer again, and install it ( if you have options, choose repair ) and let it finish.

after that, reboot pc and try to uninstall it as normal.

I said: i can't install it, because it says "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A dll required...". I even cleared regedit from previous hamachi, deleted all hamachi files, but it still don't want to install

I am having the same error.  The full error messge durring installation is:

"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run.  Contact your support personnel or package vendor."

 

Clicking "Ok" populates the next error message:


"[Setup] ended prematurely

[Setup] ended prematurely because of an error.  Your system has not been modified.  Run the installation again later.

 

Click Finish to exit the [Wizard]"

 

As above, I have  removed all in instances containing the term "hamachi" or "LogMeIn" from the registry.  Likewise I have done a full sweep of my machine for folders or files named either "hamachi" or "LogMeIn" and removed them and their contents.  As above, I had a an installation of Hamachi at some earlier point, however, no [obvious] trace of it remains.

 

I have also tried several older versions of Hamachi to compare (hamachi_2.1.0.294.msi, hamachi_2.1.0.215.msi), and they all result in the same error messages.

 

My system is Windows 7 Ultimate, SP1.  All system updates are current as of 2013-02-26.

What recomendations can you make?

Try this:

 

Download the msi file to the C: Drive

 

Open the Command Prompt and navigate to where you saved that file.

 

Run:   msiexec.exe /i <msiname.msi> /l*v "C:\hamachiinstall.log"

 

If everything works, great!  Odd, but Great! Oh and delete that log file.

 

If not, please open a support ticket, and provide that log file.
