cd logmein-hamachi-2.1.0.17-x64

./

 ./install.sh

next

 hamachi login
Hamachi does not seem to be running.
Run '/etc/init.d/logmein-hamachi start' to start daemon.

next

 /etc/init.d/logmein-hamachi start
Starting LogMeIn Hamachi VPN tunneling engine logmein-hamachi *

but I cant do a login on hamach, or any thing, examples:

 hamachi set-nick Akylez
Hamachi does not seem to be running.
Run '/etc/init.d/logmein-hamachi start' to start daemon.

Re: Hamachi does not seem to be running.

I know this thread is very old, however I had the same issue today, and I managed to fix it by issuing the following commands:

user@ubuntu:~# hamachi login
Hamachi does not seem to be running. Run '/etc/init.d/logmein-hamachi start' to start daemon.
user@ubuntu:~# service logmein-hamachi stop user@ubuntu:~# service logmein-hamachi start user@ubuntu:~# systemctl enable logmein-hamachi #Start hamachi at boot user@ubuntu:~# hamachi login

Re: Hamachi does not seem to be running.

Why hasn't this been solved? Same issue, Kubuntu 17.10:

bep@ThinkPad-Kubuntu:~$ sudo hamachi
  version : 2.1.0.174
  pid : 27199
  status : offline
  client id :
  address :
  nickname :
  lmi account:

bep@ThinkPad-Kubuntu:~$ sudo hamachi login
Logging in ...bep@ThinkPad-Kubuntu:~$ sudo hamachi attach (MY EMAIL)
Hamachi does not seem to be running.
Run '/etc/init.d/logmein-hamachi start' to start daemon.

This is absolutely ridiculous.

Re: Hamachi does not seem to be running.

So, 6 years later the problem still exists, and no solution in all that time? Thanks for wasting my time, LogMeIn.

Re: Hamachi does not seem to be running.

It seems that on  Ubuntu 17.10 the issue with that is

hamachid: relocation error: hamachid: symbol __res_maybe_init, version GLIBC_PRIVATE not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference

For this reason the hamachi daemon is dying.

Re: Hamachi does not seem to be running.

Finally some more info. I'll see if I can do some poking around tonight.
