Since the W10 Anniversary Update (AU) I am experiencing an intermittent issue where the File Manager stalls while reading the list of local drives, and therefore does not allow file transfers to take place. This happens whether the File Manager is invoked from LMI Client, LMI Central or from the LMI Main Menu using Java, HTML or Client App. I say this occurs intermittently because some days it happens & other days it does not. I am wondering whether additional Windows Updates are affecting the issue, but when this happens, all W10 AU units on my local area network suffer from the same problem. Win 7 units do not ever suffer this problem, and neither do pre-AU W10 units.
When the problem occurs I can still use all other aspects of LMI Client & Central, (eg. remote controlling units etc) it is just that the File Manager refuses to progress beyond reading the available local drives.

I have the same problem. I even tried recreating the folder I deleted that it was using in the last file manager session. Very frustrating.
In my case I tracked it down to having a mapped drive to a shared folder that was not always online. When it was available, the File Manager appeared promptly, however when the shared folder was offline, the File Manager would take seemingly forever before it appeared (if it ever appeared).
