Re: Problems with Blanking of the Host Screen During Remote Control (Windows 10)

Has this been resolved as I am having issues with screen blanking.  I get an error message saying "changes introduced by Microsoft are preventing screen blanking on hosts running Windows 10, Version 2004 and above.

I can see this issue started towards the end of last year but cannot see a resolution.

Please advise urgently as this can breach security protocols.

@Tilly  Our research continues to investigate possible solutions after Microsoft made this sudden security change.  You may consider turning off your monitor at the host location or some users have had success temporarily disabling, then re-enabling their graphics driver there.  I hope to have more information from development soon.

I just want to point out to LMI, you can not possibly use the term "sudden security change" anymore. This has been close to a year already. At this point, it is just blatant laziness bordering on neglect, that you have not come up with a work around. Don't play the blame game and point your finger at MS, if they patched a security flaw that caused your function to no longer work, it implys that you were aware of a security flaw and chose to exploit it has been patched well over 10 months ago it is long over due for you to rewrite your program to work again.

Re: Problems with Blanking of the Host Screen During Remote Control (Windows 10)

It seems to me that everyone who utilitizes LOGMEIN remotely needs to have the blank screen feature.  I handle high sensitivity items that also require a blacked out host screen for multiple monitors.  This has been an issue for a long time now.  Is there any estimated time frame to this correction?  This really should have been taken care of by now.

Why is this marked SOLVED when it obviously has not been? This is a serious failure by LMI.

Re: Problems with Blanking of the Host Screen During Remote Control (Windows 10)

If I turn off the monitor at the host computer, then the remote user can't see the screen, it is just black on their end too? I've tried this as a way to fix it and it doesn't work. I have a remote accountant that logs in and does payroll so now I have a computer that shares sensitive payroll info to anyone walking by. My current solution is a piece of card stock paper taped over the monitor- This seems really silly... why can't you fix this?

Re: Windows 10 v2004 blocks screen blanking ability

Thanks for your patience everyone.

We've released an update that fixes the screen blanking failure for hosts running Windows v2004 and higher.  Please upgrade affected PCs to LogMeIn host software 4.1.0.14344 in order to activate the new screen blanking method.

I agree that this issue is going on way too long.  Especially for the price that we pay for the Logmein service.
