What will happen to the backups of the authenticator app without lastpass on my ios devices? I will only use lastpass on the desktop. Will I need another free account dedicated to mobiles?

Others have said it, but I'd just add that this is a pretty shameful way to behave towards customers.

Hi @Biobob 

 

If you choose desktop as your device type you can still use the mobile apps for 2FA and account recovery, you just won't be able to view the sites stored in your vault on the mobile app.

this has to be the DUMBEST move ever, who uses only one device type?

If you want to get rid of the free users, be upfront and say it, this is the shadiest move any company has ever made. I am moving to your competition and never using any of your products again. I have no problem with you charging for your product, it's the absurd way that you are using to justify it.

I just wanted to ask a simple question about upgrading to Families instead and whether there's a discount there and/or that this allows multi-device premium access for all Family members....

 

But jesus it's depressing to see some of the replies on this post. So many bitter, angry people over this private company's decision how to market their product. All this over $2.25/month. smh

No not bitter. Just making a choice when LastPass use extortion tactics. If you feel comfortable being extorted then that’s great. The rest of us don’t, and have found a better option. They lost 5 users in an hour here today. Multiply that out globally. Bitwarden couldn’t pay for better marketing. They must be loving this.

I don't see how this can be defined as "extortion" lol. So dramatic.
And regardless, for $2/month yeah i guess I'm "comfortable" with it. Certainly not worth posting my grievances online for the whole world to see. But I guess that's the world we live in. Have a great day!
