Actually Logmein's decision earlier this year to prevent manual updates is the real culprit here. form the change log 5-9-2022: "We removed the 'Ask me for install update' checkbox to introduce the automatic update feature for GoToMyPC for every user regardless of their subscription plan." If Logmein wasn't aggressively pushing these updates out whenever they feel like it and instead let the customer decide when to update we wouldn't have these unexpected outages. Confirmed with GoToMyPC support (case 13453934) that builds 2652 and 2714 cause this problem and the resolution was to lock all our pcs onto build 2586 after which the brightness adjustment works again. Thank you to support rep Jazmine who was the only rep I have talked with who took the time to understand and resolve my problem! Other notes: Brightness slider in windows 10 notification center becomes stuck at 100% after installing Gotoymypc, and becomes unstuck after uninstalling Gotomypc. Brand new Dell Latitude 7424 laptop with Windows 10 build 1909. Brightness keys (Function key + F11 or F12) work as intended to adjust screen brightness. Problem details: Install Gotoymypc version 10.3 (2714) Brightness keys stop working. Uninstall Gotomypc. Brightness keys work again. Called Gotomypc support and they said it's not their problem, said to contact Dell at 800-624-9897. Called Dell and they said it's a Gotomypc problem. Requested that Gotomypc send me version10.2 (2586) which does not have this problem (based on experience with our other 14 pcs running this version) and they refused insisting that Gotoymypc has nothing whatsoever to do with windows brightness. GotomyPC update disables the Night Light in Windows 10 both builds 1903 and 1909. Upgrading from 10.2 (2586) to either 10.2 (2652) or10.3 (2714) on the host causes Night Light to be disabled on the host with no way to re-enable it. Uninstalled Gotomypc and Night Light immediately started working again. Reinstalled 10.3 (2714) and Night Light immediately broken again. Updated the AMD Radeon Pro WX 3100 driver but no change. Only thing that works is restoring system image back to 10.2 (2586). Please fix this. Thank you.Solved2.6KViews0likes3Comments
