ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Virtual Background for Webcams oriatorIt took GoTo over 4 years to finally deliver something close to what Zoom has. I switched to Zoom due to the lack of this feature a while ago. Considering the recent data breach at GoTo, I am glad I left. I am paying double at Zoom for the same features as I had with GoTo, but everything works nicely and there are no issue like the ones with the GoTo web client. I am happy to pay for a better service. GoTo is cheaper but slow to add features and it is not as easy to use. Despite what KateG says, the background feature GoTo has added is not on par with any of the other major meeting services. Re: Virtual Background for Webcams AshCI did contact support and reported the issues. There was no follow up on this being solved in any way, just a black hole the support request fell into. I managed to remove GoTo apps and the ChromaCam app from my computer quite forcibly via CLI. I discontinued my service with GTM and went to another vendor that does not have issues with their software in general and does not have a problem providing a reliable usable background feature. I tried to hold onto GTM as long as possible, but the software hassles far outweighed its usefulness. Again, I am happy to talk with anyone in product and/or marketing about this situation. Re: Chromacam usability This started popping up at random yesterday. Why can't GoTo get anything right? GoToMeeting is not open (hasn't been for months) and I did not activate ChromaCam. This is super annoying. Chroma Cam is junk software and I am not sure why GoTo thinks it is ok. I have tried to delete chroma cam, but it says it cannot because it is in use. This looks and feels like malware. Re: Virtual Background for Webcams AshCSince yesterday I am getting this annoying popup all the time. GoTomeeting is not open and I am not actively trying to use ChromaCam. My operating system will not let me remove ChromaCam because it says it is in use by another program. Why does this keep popping up? GoTo is failing. I had also multiple GoTo webinars recently that were failing to launch due to some system error on your end. This is getting out of hand. Re: Virtual Background for Webcams AshCIf you have a public/beta testing group for the new GoTo, I am happy to test it like I did the previous update. While I have another meeting service, one feature with GoToMeeting (that the other service does not have) has me holding onto GoTo for a some specific meetings where I need it. Staying with GoToMeeting is what I want to do. Re: Chromacam usability gwtechllcI just recently contracted with another service and moving away from G2M and the ChromaCam issues are one of the very few reasons for this decision. It seems pretty clear that G2M thinks what they have is good enough and it isn't. Sadly, going elsewhere is the only option we have. G2M took over 2 years to deliver the ChromaCam integration and has been claiming ChromaCam works for over a year and seems to be ignoring the fact that it doesn't. Re: Chromacam usability ChromaCam is a very poor integration. It does not work well and often crashes requiring me to restart meetings.AshCWhen will you realize this does not actually work. Attendees regret installing it and have to deal with the issues as well. Attendees expect this feature to work. Re: Virtual Background for Webcams AshCjust to drive the point about instability, I gave ChromaCam Pro one more try and it crashed a few seconds after starting a meeting. Not usable. Re: Virtual Background for Webcams AshC I finally made the move and signed up for service with Zoom at 5x the price to get the same features as I do with GTM + background. I would have been happy to stay with GTM, but you guys have a problem delivering this feature. ChromaCam is not reliable and has problems. I have plenty of resources on my personal machine with 16 cores and 64GB RAM and a nice video card, but ChromaCam heats things up and sets the fans spinning audibly during a meeting and that is not desirable. It also has general usability issues. Not having this feature is costing you business that I would pay up to 5x more to have. I would be happy to speak with anyone in product planning or marketing about this situation. Re: Virtual Background for Webcams None of the suggested third party apps are usable or reliable on macOS. There are a lot of macOS users. SnapCam works for a little while, but it eventually uses so many system resources that the fans get so loud and it affects the audio. I have a well provisioned new MacBook Pro and this happens. A MacBook or Macbook Air would likely crash in this situation. We need solid native support for this in GTM on all platforms.
