ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Hamachi on Windows 11 ARM Yes, it's unfortunate. I was really hoping that the updates would've been sufficient. I would gladly pay a little extra per year to keep using this service, since it's the best for my current workflow. I took quite a big hit when support for M-series Apple chips stopped, and have stopped using Macs for this reason. I think GoTo needs to realize that many computers will be moving to non x86-64 architectures in the future. Just the volume of ARM computers available today seems to be equally the same as x86-64 versions (I've personally been looking for the Zenbook S16 which hasn't been available). I did get an email from a rep and opened a ticket about a week or two ago. GlennD - can you assist? My customer care guy was Gerardo. I really hope that this gets resolved. It's quite inconvenient to have to keep powering off and on just to reset the connection. Even a powershell script to automatically disconnect and reconnect every 5 minutes would be better than having to use a UI - if you have an API guide, that'd be helpful. Lieutenant172 response snippet below: Hello , Thank you for reaching out and for your continued support of Hamachi over the past decade. I’m glad to hear that it’s been working well for you overall and that you’ve been able to use it with Windows 11 on ARM devices. However, I understand that you're experiencing issues with reliability on your Surface Pro 11. Currently, Hamachi is optimized for Windows x86-64 architecture, and I regret to inform you that at this time, there are no plans to release updates aimed at improving compatibility with ARM-based chip devices. I realize how inconvenient this can be, especially since your x86-64 machines are working without issue. Please know that we take feedback seriously, and I will share your experience with our development team for future consideration. In the meantime, if you have any questions or need assistance with your setup, don’t hesitate to reach out—we're happy to help as much as we can within the current framework. Thank you for your understanding, and we truly appreciate your loyalty to Hamachi. Best regards, Gerardo | Customer Care Hamachi on Windows 11 ARM Great to finally see support for Windows 11 on ARM. However, my connection keeps disconnecting every few minutes, requiring me to power off (or disconnect) and then powering back on (reconnecting). This is on the newest Surface Pro 11, both while tethered on hotspot or wifi. Can you guys update Hamachi such that it's more reliable like it is on Windows x86? Would love to keep using the service if possible, but not if it keeps disconnecting every 10 minutes or so while transferring files for a Teams call. Re: Hamachi vpn app won't start on macOS with M2 processor. How can I solve it? it doesn't seem like it's been resolved on macOS just yet. it's still using installer from 2019. for now, it would seem like windows 11 ARM is supported, but need more testing. windows 11 on parallels appear to be working as well. network configuration on windows 11 ARM doesn't look like the configuration on x86 installs. it doesn't install a network adapter hence no way to mark it as a private network vice public, so adding an ARM machine on network (to remote in) may not work just yet. previous versions (as of a month ago) did install a network adapter similar to zerotier, so maybe they're still playing with configurations. hopefully macOS support will come at some point. either way, these are all improvements in the right direction in supporting ARM. Re: Hamachi vpn app won't start on macOS with M2 processor. How can I solve it? ITadminJgradarius- just tried installing hamachi on windows 11 through parallels - appears to work just fine now. you may have to reinstall (so install twice after you've attached to your network). it would work just like zerotier would (so no new network connection on windows). i tried it on macos a few months ago via a parallels VM so maybe it works now. perhaps give it a try. now to give it a spin on windows 11 for surface 9 ARM - i hope it works - those are expensive machines! Re: Hamachi vpn app won't start on macOS with M2 processor. How can I solve it? it doesn't seem like they want to fix it. GlennD thinks that saying "it won't be supported" is a solution. so many people are asking for this to be solved, and i'm not sure why they don't want to solve it. everyone is back in the office and this makes this capability even more critical. never mind the fact that many tech companies appear to be moving to ARM-based designs. Re: Hamachi vpn app won't start on macOS with M2 processor. How can I solve it? this is not a solution. it just states that there are no plans to add support, even if the customer base would very much like support to be added -- for years now! Re: Hamachi vpn app won't start on macOS with M2 processor. How can I solve it? I agree. GlennD - can we get someone from Goto fix the issue? It seems that Windows ARM at least got some work done. I continue to pay subscription because it's still faster than ZeroTier or Tailscale for Windows, and it's far better compared to other VPN services out there. I'm slowly migrating away since Goto doesn't seem to care, and a majority of people have switched to ZeroTier. The lag for me just isn't cutting it with ZeroTier or Tailscale. PIA through WireShark works great, except the roaming IPs that get refreshed every 5 hours. At this point, if Goto can't fix it in the next year, I'll just cancel my subscription. Although Hamachi is much more convenient at scale, Goto just doesn't seem to care, even for paying customers. They'd rather upscale you to $800 when all you really need is a VPN, but in reality, I can always take the AWS route, which is also far more responsive. Unfortunately, I don't use Hamachi for gaming. I did cancel my subscription earlier this year but half of my distributed network hasn't migrated away just yet. It's so much easier to install the app than migrate away. Re: Hamachi vpn app won't start on macOS with M2 processor. How can I solve it? GlennD- I think GoTo needs to fix this. Many users have since moved on to ZeroTier when Hamachi has worked really well before. Any Mac from 2020 hasn't worked. tlagrone has posted multiple work-arounds but they're not ideal.
