If we VNC to the host from another, then the graphics remain on display when the monitor is unplugged. But on GotoMyPC, the graphics disappear when the monitor is unplugged, then reappear when the monitor is plugged back in. Graphics disappear when monitor is off or disconnected We have a medical imaging workstation that shows advanced graphics (3D scans of patients) using an NVidia Quadro M4000 for display and an Nvidia Quadro M5000 for GPU compute. We have a Wacom 27 QHD screen attached via DisplayPort. The problem comes when we switch off the monitor, or disconnect it. We can connect with GotoMyPC fine, and most of the graphics elements display, but the more advanced graphics (patient scans) do not display, there's just a black rectangle in the user interface where they should be. Is this likely to be a problem with the medical imaging software, or with GotoMyPC? Has anyone come across anything similar? Re: Isolated support We use gotomypc in a secure (patient medical records) environment. We have enabled the one-time password lists so that we have to give the passwords out one a time to anyone connecting. You can also disable the gotomypc service quite easily when not required, and then switch it back on to "enable access". Re: Hosts file entries for gotomypc Just putting this here so it's searchable for others later on. I eventually got this escalated high enough up tech support to get an answer: "If the customer is looking to configure the DSN [sic] entries directly on the host (behind NAT) then they need to update the following entries in the system host file. gotomypc.com 23.239.230.205 poll.gotomypc.com 23.239.230.206 gotomypc.com 173.199.10.214 poll.gotomypc.com 173.199.10.195 Hosts file entries for gotomypc We are using gotomypc on medical devices behind a firewall that does not allow DNS through it. We therefore rely on the hosts file (in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\) to resolve hostnames to IPs. This has worked well, but recently we have been having a lot of problems. Is anyone able to provide me with a list of hostnames and IPs to include in our hosts file? At present we have: 95.100.104.75 www.gotomypc.com 95.100.104.98 www.gotomypc.com 23.239.230.206 poll.gotomypc.com 216.115.214.100 gotomypc.com This was working until about 2 weeks ago (5th-5th July) when we started to get serious connectivity problems. SolvedRe: Gotomypc having some kind of outage We have been having issues since the morning of Friday 12th (GMT+1 time). At 0700 GMT+1 I could connect to a host and stayed connected all day. Later on colleagues could not connect to any hosts and when I disconnected I could not reconnect. All of our hosts are showing as online, but all timeout on "Waiting for the host computer" popup. Were there any configuration changes at LogMeIn's end on Friday that we should be aware of? My hosts file has 95.100.104.75 www.gotomypc.com 95.100.104.98 www.gotomypc.com 23.239.230.206 poll.gotomypc.com (this matches the registry key) 216.115.214.100 gotomypc.com This computer needs a hosts file as it's behind a NAT firewall that does not allow DNS through (!) because it's a medical device. Poll server IPs keep resetting We have GotoMyPC on some firewalled medical devices. The firewall prevents DNS, so we have to use the hosts file to configure GoToMyPC. Back in January there was a loss of connectivity related to changing IP addresses of the Poll servers. This has reared it head again this week. I have configured all 3 server IPs (2x 23.239.x.y and the older 216.115.x.y) in the hosts file. I am finding this week that I can only connect if the registry is also configured to have the 'older' 216.115.x.y address. But the problem is that once a terminal is connected to the service (with no user remoting in) the registry updates itself and removes the 216.115 address - which then disconnects the system! So....how should I configure the hosts/registry, and is it possible to stop the registry from getting altered? i heard that LogMeIn are retiring the 216 IP address, but how can they if the 'new' ones don't work for all users? Any help greatly appreciated!
