What's New?
Mac OS X 10.13 (High Sierra) Now Supported
- Users running Mac OS X 10.13 (High Sierra) can now download and install the GoToMeeting desktop app to start and join meetings, webinars and trainings. Now the current system requirements for organizers include Windows 7 to Windows 10 and Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) to Mac OS X 10.13 (High Sierra). (COLLABEP-19859)
Improvements to the Automatic Updater to Use Proactive Activation
- Currently, the GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar and GoToTraining desktop app uses its built-in Automatic Updater tool to complete proactive downloads of new builds of the software as soon as they become available. This ensures that new builds are ready on the organizer's computer whenever their account is updated to use it. However, the Automatic Updater tool doesn't necessarily activate the new builds that it downloads, as it is only checking to see if they are available. Now, the Automatic Updater tool will also check to see what build the organizer's account is actually set to and then will proactively activate that build to ensure that the organizer starts using it right away. This helps users enjoy the latest features at a faster rate and makes sure that they don't get stuck using older builds longer than they need to. (COLLABEP-19385; -19543)
Webcams Hidden during Polls or Tests
- Improvements have been made to displayed webcams while a poll or test is in progress. Previously, webcams stayed active on Macs but users experienced broken webcam filters and toolbar options. Now, webcams will either be hidden or the filters and toolbar buttons will be unavailable. (COLLABEP-20262)
- When users have the Webcam pane undocked from the Viewer window, all webcams will be hidden and resumed when poll or test is closed.
- When users have the Webcam pane docked to the Viewer window, all webcam filters and menu buttons will be removed and available again when poll or test is closed.
Bug Fixes:
Fix for Inability to Log In
- Users will now be able to properly log in to the desktop app after authentication configuration changes. Previously, some users were unable to log in to the desktop app and start their session due to the domain migration changes. When users previously hit this issue, they were told to follow one of these options as a workaround: (COLLABEP-20514)
- Log in to the website (https://global.gotowebinar.com) and start the session
- Sign out and exit from the Daisy icon in the system tray, and then restart the desktop app
- Uninstall and reinstall the desktop app
Fix for Missing Shortcuts after MSI Install
- Previously, some users could not launch the GoToMeeting app after installing via MSI due to missing shortcuts. As a workaround, users had to open Program Files and manually run "g2mstart.exe" to launch the app. Now, the dekstop app will properly appear in the Start menu and on the desktop after installing. (COLLABEP-20260)
Fix for Delayed Audio after Session Ends
- Previously, after organizers ended the session, some attendees intermittently heard lingering audio (including audio chimes and talking) due to some backend delays. Now, the audio will disconnect immediately once session has ended. (COLLABEP-20179)
Fix for Inability to Join Session for First Time Users
- Previously, when Mac users joined a session for the very first time, the "Edit Your Name and Email" window would intermittently launch behind the Audio Selection window. This prevented users from properly joining, because the "Edit Your Name and Email" window must be filled out before selecting audio. Now, the windows will launch in the proper order. (COLLABEP-19205)
Additional bug fixes & minor changes:
- Fix for the Mac Automatic Updater not updating the desktop app to the correct build (COLLABEP-20344)
- Fix for the Mac Automatic Updater not installing when new builds were set to "read-only" for administrators (COLLABEP-20100)
- Fix for Mac app crashing during on-demand downloads (older build upgrades to a new build right before session launch) (COLLABEP-20301)
- Fix for missing Vietnam flag in the drop-down list of countries in Windows Audio Selection screen (COLLABEP-20411)
- Fix for app intermittently crashing when organizer promotes an attendee and leaves the meeting (COLLABEP–19981)
- Fix for users hitting an "Internet error" message after one failed attempt in a password-protected meeting (COLLABEP-18655)
