Hi Morphears ,
As Glenn said we need to consider security side of blocking uninstalling a software plus it could cause trouble if you wanna delete from the computer locally. So we are not planning any blocking.
What we are planning tho' is to install the endpoint with the option to hide uninstall menu item to avoid that children or non tech-savy user accidentally remove it. The endpoint can be still uninstalled via the traditional windows way but the uninstall shortcut will disappear. We are also considering to have it as the default behavior.
So, I believe this is going to be solved.
Thanks for your proposal.

That would be a great way of going about it......the actual tray icon holds no other information apart from "About" so if the uninstall could just be hidden that would be great 🙂
Thanks to every one for your replies.

Great discussion. Thank You!
Adding a password is on the roadmap. What we try to achieve "quickly" is that there is no accidental delete happening.
Agents can remotely uninstall the endpoint already in multiple ways (delete from device list will uninstall the endpoint, they can do background delete or use remote execution feature).
The reason we'd like to keep the tray icon is that there are cool features coming to the endpoints that will be available from the tray (ZTNA, HelpLine, Ticketing, etc). ZTNA will demand an uninstall control to ensure that network policies can not be bypassed (like block Tiktok, Facebook, etc).
