Laptop to Tv via HDMI cable mutes internal MIC on laptop participants cant hear

What is most likely happening is when the TV is connected the laptop is switching to using it as the audio device. In the GoToMeeting control panel you can open the audio options and make sure that the internal microphone of the laptop is selected.
