It is always a best practice to reboot just before a GoTo Webinar, or any other program that uses the microphone and speakers. A program on your computer can grab hold of the sound and not let other programs use it. Rebooting fixes all that.

What computer was she using?
I have found success getting people to go into the GoToWebinar Control Panel and selecting No Audio, then switch back to Computer Audio.
Has she been able to connect to other GoToWebinars? other virtual meting tools?
Is she using a new microphone/headset? Maybe that microphone has an inline mute switch?
Try rebooting the computer. Sometimes programs grab hold of the computer audio and won't let other programs use the audio.

Thanks for your reply Chris,
We tried selecting no audio and back to computer audio but it didn't help. However, rebooting did the trick. It seems to be the magic wand to many technical issues. :)
The computer was Lenovo and as far as I understood this was the first GoToWebinar she joined, so no previous experience.
