New Logo and upcoming release.

Hi,

As you may have noticed here in the community, GoToAssist now has a new logo.

We will be updating the GoToAssist software with this new logo in our up coming release. This means both the technician and Unattended Support icon will change, so you may want to notify your clients so there is no confusion over a new icon in their system tray. The current release schedule is as follows:
  • June 30th all account set to Frequent updates in their GoToAssist settings will receive the new build.
  • July 7th 8th the build will be released as Default
  • Accounts set to Infrequent Updates will be unaffected, so if you want to hold off on updating you can set this for your entire account of specific companies in your account.
Coming soon:
  • Seeit Android version
  • MAC Technician multiple monitor support
  • Technician Permissions View Only
  • UAC mitigation (option to start as a service)

Will the fastsupport desktop shortcut icon (orange gear) also change?

Re: New Logo and upcoming release.

Really don't see the point with this.  I liked the old one, and it seems to be much lower priority to me than fixing the issue with new updates that make me bounce back and forth with the version I have installed because the remotes didn't update.  Why can't a newer version of the Expert be backwards compatible with older versions of the clients.  This is extremely annoying when you have to manage multiple machines that are on different versions for whatever reason.

Work on improving the update process is ongoing. The development team are not graphic designers, so the logo had no impact on their priorities or work load.

Re: New Logo and upcoming release.

Hi,

Just a quick reminder that we will begin rolling out the latest release v2.4 (build 857), of GoToAssist Remote Support tomorrow 7/8/2015. This will be the new default build, so all accounts not set to Infrequent Updates will be updated.

Re: New Logo and upcoming release.

As usual - this turns out to be a huge PITA. I understand you need to do updates, but..... My "Expert" version upgraded this morning - no problem.  So I connect to 1 of the 100 servers we have - and they are still running on the old version because they haven't auto-updated yet. Somebody thought it was a good idea to have MY Version DOWNGRADE to meet the target version. so as the servers slowly auto-update, I have this crazy situation where my version constantly all day UPGRADES and then DOWNGRADES to match the target.  I mean... whats that all about? Do you realise what a pain that is? Why not just update the target server to the latest and leave my local one - surely that's far more sense?  Sorry, but this happens every time - cant believe its not been challenged.
