Re: New Logo and upcoming release.

The perception because of the big announcement is it was being changed primarily for the logo and not much else, in my opinion. That said 857 shortcomings will always be tied to the new logo implementation. Flat design rox, in this case poorly timed due to the other things that followed.

Re: New Logo and upcoming release.

Old farts don't know flat design from Plainview Texas and wouldn't give a flying fluctuation if they did. Old farts just want to keep their customers happy. But I digress. My point - the logo change was hyped while the major underlying infrastructure changes were slipped in virtually unannounced. For many of us, the new logo will always symbolize the bungled release.

Re: New Logo and upcoming release.

Completely incorrect. There was no hype, the logo change was announced in advance of the release so that you would have time to alert your clients and avoid any confusion. We didn't want them suddenly seeing a new icon in their system tray and panicking. The main features were included in the post as they were confirmed and the release notes went live the day we started updating accounts.

Re: New Logo and upcoming release.

Not to be completely negative, some good things were included in the update:
  • Allow technician to update stored password
  • New message for sessions disconnected by customer security software
  • New preference to run sessions as a service at startup
  • Restrict remote control permission for technicians
It wasn't any announced features, but the unannounced and apparently untested deployment model  I was referring to as major underlying infrastructure changes.

I'm done with this topic. Hopefully a lesson has been learned. Let's move on.

Re: New Logo and upcoming release.

"Infrastructure changes" implies a lot more than what actually happened. In the past we rolled out updates over a longer period of time, we tried increasing the number of accounts in order to shorten the process and it backfired. But yes, I would agree a lesson was learned.
