Unattended Support install fails on some Macs

Hi,

There is currently a known issue with setting up Unattended Support on Macs if the user account name has a space in it, such as "EXO Admin".  Unfortunately, the only workaround is to create a new user account without a space in the account name.

This issue affects all versions of Mac OS and GoToAssist Remote Support

Didn't work. I created a new admin account without spaces and the install failed. The message was: "There were errors with the installation. You may want to try installing".

Re: Unattended Support install fails on some Macs

This is an awful, terrible bug. installer needs to be fixed! Only software I can think of that doesn't tolerate a space in the user's name.

At the very least, make the installer check for the problem and let the person trying to install it why it's failing.

Any progress on resolving this? We love using g2a, but we're in the middle of a fleet deployment. If we can't get this running very quickly, we're going to have to switch to Splashtop or another solution.

Hi Trey,

Unfortunately there is no update on this issue currently. Will you be deploying to a large number of Macs that have these conditions?

Re: Unattended Support install fails on some Macs

Hello, running into the exact same issue here. Setting up 4 brand new MacBook Pro's on OSX 10.12.1 and installation fails on all of them. Another thread stated no spaces can be in the username, also tried creating another admin account.

The only thing that works, is to restart and log back in. Every time this works, very odd?

Re: Unattended Support install fails on some Macs

Hi Joel,
It's true that spaces in User names on OS X can cause an Unattended install to fail.  However I'm not currently aware of an issue like this on 10.12.  We can certainly research and try to recreate this with you!

Re: Unattended Support install fails on some Macs

To be clear we are talking about spaces in the account name and not the full name right?

Re: Unattended Support install fails on some Macs

Neither account name nor full name has spaces in it on these last 4 machines I ran into this on.

Re: Unattended Support install fails on some Macs

I tried re-installing the Unattended installer using a local admin account with no spaces in the username on the same system that had the original problem described, and that had no impact - unattended installer still fails.
