We can't access the GoToMeeting website( https://www.gotomeeting.com/ ) via the university's network from last week. We confirmed from different computers(Windows/Mac), browsers(FireFox, Safari, Chrome, Edge, IE) and buildings, but we can not connect with either method.
The message is
This site can't be reached The connesction was reset. Try: - Cheking the connection - Checking the proxy and he firewall - Running Windows Network Diagnostics ERR_CONNECTION_RESET
Our IT department confirmed with the following command, "Connection reset by peer" message is dispalyed. It seems that the GoToMeeting website is denying access from Osaka City University. Would you please confirm about your security settings?
% curl --verbose http://www.gotomeeting.com/ * Trying 23.35.110.152... * TCP_NODELAY set * Connected to www.gotomeeting.com (23.35.110.152) port 80 (#0) > GET / HTTP/1.1 > Host: www.gotomeeting.com > User-Agent: curl/7.64.1 > Accept: */* > * Recv failure: Connection reset by peer * Closing connection 0 curl: (56) Recv failure: Connection reset by peer
We could access GoToMeeting website and could hold web conference via university's network on Friday, May 28, 2020 15:00-16:00(JST).
We made contract with GoToMeeting and use it for our university work. We're not a free user. Our university is "Osaka City University" in Japan.
Solved! Go to Solution.
That's great to hear, glad you got connected.
@keiko-ota-jp It sounds like there may have been a seurity change there that is blocking GoToMeeting connections. Please be sure to whitelist everything on this document: https://support.goto.com/meeting/help/optimal-firewall-configuration-g2m060010 (IP ranges in ful)
Hi @AshC ,
Thank you for your advice. I confirm the web request is NOT blocked on campus using tracert command. The image below is the result. This was done from Japan time 2020/06/02 10:22:35(JST) to 2020/06/02 10:23:03(JST).
It seems we could reached to your CDN service( akamaitechnologies.com ), and your service reset our request. First of all, can you check the situation there?
Thank you.
While I can't see individual IPs attempting to connect, I would suggest you reach out directly to your IT group for options to create a clear path to egwglobal.gotomeeting.com .
Hi @AshC, thank you for your advice! Our IT department found the security software determined that gotomeeting was P2P software, and blocked access. After fixed it, we could access to the GoToMeeting website( https://www.gotomeeting.com/ ) and could hold meetings!!
I'm really appreciated for your help. Thank you again!!
That's great to hear, glad you got connected.
