We have our remote PCs connected to a large monitor set at 1920x1080 which matches the resolution on the laptops we use to connect with. However, after a couple of weeks the screen resolution on the host computer changed itself to 1024x768.
This makes it so we cannot see everything we need to with the applications we are using on the host computer. When we try to select a different screen resolution and click "Keep new settings" the resolution stays at 1024x768. The various settings within GoToMyPC do not have an affect on the screen resolution. Only on the size of the viewing window.
Restarting the host PC and restarting the GoToMyPC session does not have any effect either.
Hi @brianpHB, welcome to the community.
If you do not have Automatically adjust host screen area for best full-screen viewing enabled in the Host Preferences, GoToMyPC should not be affecting the screen resolution of your Host PC. I would suggest checking to see if there are new video drivers available for the Host PC.
Thanks for the reply. That setting is already set to "on." We have also tried different settings for Scale to Fit vs. Actual Size and just about every other setting without any improvement. What is particularly frustrating is that this issue didn't come up until after a few days of using it. Also, when I'm physically in front of the host computer the resolution is as it should be (1920x1080).
We are using a single monitor with a HDMI switch to view between three PCs. When I change the switch to a different PC then the one I'm connected to reverts back to the lower resolution setting.
The HDMI switch might be the cause of the issue as it is between the PC and the monitor. Could you please try removing the HDMI switch temporarily and connect the monitor directly to the PC, and then connect with GoToMyPC to see if the issue is still there?
