Unfortunately, GoToMyPC couldn't start because it's been corrupted.

I am trying to install gotomypc on a machine to allow access to our 20 hosts on our acount and keep getting this message.

"Unfortunately, GoToMyPC couldn't start because it's been corrupted. You may need to contact your system administrator.

 

I have tried de-installing, removing every trace of previous installations, and trying to install from different user profiles.

 

Please see the last log file entry below if anyone can help it would be appreciated.

Hi there,

Could you say how you are installing GoToMyPC there?

Through which web browser and OS is the problem occurring?

Has GoToMyPC ever worked there before?

HI Thanks for your response.

It is through a Windows XPmachine (that needs to stay that way in support of lab equipment) and installed either through chrome or by run as admin etc etc directly from local hard drive.   It used to work on this machine in the past but it simply wont install ever since there was some maintenance work done on the machine involving the re installation of a completely unrelated (?) application.

Oh, I see -- this is an XP machine. Unless you've got an older GoToMyPC version installed there, I'm not sure what the outcomes would be on that system.

Yes, I have a few other xp machine around that instal OK on the same domain and from the same web installer.

 

I might go searching for an old executable hiding somewhere in a  chrome downloads folder.

***SOLVED***.  I went on the other xp machine (that works) and copied the GOTO OPENER directory and the GOTOMYPC directory (Wholus Bolus) from C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Local Settings\Application Data\ and popped them into the same relevant user directory of the problem machine.

 

Ran the g2quick exe,  logged in, connected to the host, then all ran beuatifully.  Obviously it must be a version of the opener that is causing problems with my specific XP machine.  Im reluctant to support it much more let alone otomypc!
