Inattentive alerts for attendees

In the new version of GoToTraining you can see how many people in the meeting are inattentive, but you can no longer see which of your attendees are the ones who are inattentive. For our meetings we need to have 100% participation and attentiveness so need to know who has something else open so we can reach out to them to correct the issue. In the old "classic" format a warning triangle icon would show next to the attendees name in the attendee list.

Will this functionality be added back to the new version?

Re: Inattentive alerts for attendees

Sorry for the delay. At the moment, we are not planning to have this indicator on an individual level of attendees, for two reasons:

  1. It’s a little bit misleading because an attendee can be attentive without focusing on the GoTo window but we mark them as inattentive.
  2. We are currently attempting to avoid multiple trackings on the attendee panel as it will impact system performance.

This is subject to change as we improve the new experience and performance of the software.

Re: Inattentive alerts for attendees

This is a big issue for us. One of the reasons we chose GoToTraining as the platform we use is because of the inattentive alerts which are required by the regulatory bodies that set up requirements for our classes.

It is available in the classic version and makes absolutely no sense that it would not have been transitioned to the new version.  What is the point of the new system telling you people aren't paying attention if you can't tell who those people are and address it with them privately!?

If something as simple as showing an icon next to someone's name to show they are inattentive will affect system performance that badly, then your new system is not up to scratch. Although, I don't doubt it will cause issues because even having everyone raise their hand at the same time causes the new system to lag and freeze.

Re: Inattentive alerts for attendees

Hey There,

I hope that this is reconsidered in the near future.  It was one of the selling features that sold us on the initial platform.  While I know that it is not 100% perfect, it does give the instructor the opportunity to have a private chat with the individual that "appears" inattentive, to see if it just the way their system is set up, or if they truly are not paying attention and working on email etc.   We usually find that just mentioning that we were using a inattentive meter, was enough to have most participants "attentive" at all times.
