What's New?
Content Recorder available on Windows
- Windows users can now record content on their screens without having to schedule and run a live webinar event! The new "Record Screen" option in the GoToWebinar menu allows organizers to make a one-click recording of their screen, audio, and webcam feed, which is then automatically saved as a local or online recording (depending on their user preferences). This "out-of-session" recorder makes it easier for organizers to record content and upload onto GoToStage (a video platform full of various on-demand webinars and content), or use as Simulated Live webinars. (GTWG-11186)
- Note: This feature is currently only available to Windows users and will be available to Mac users in the future. Only the primary screen is recorded in a multi-monitor setup.
- To begin recording, users can select the Daisy icon in the system tray > Record Screen.
-
This will launch a "GoToWebinar Recorder" window. Once fully loaded, users will see a countdown that notifies them recording will begin in 3 seconds.
- The Grab Tab at the top of the screen allows users to:
(a) pause or stop recording
(b) mute or unmute audio
(c) share or pause webcam sharing
(d) share or pause screen sharing
(e) open Preferences window
(f) end the recording - After users end the recording, the My Recordings page (https://global.gotowebinar.com/recordings.tmpl) will launch and the session will be automatically uploaded.
Access GoToWebinar Online Recordings from Preferences Screen
- Organizers can now access their webinar online recordings from the Preferences screen. Selecting Webinars will launch the My Recordings page. Previously, this View Cloud Recordings link launched the Meeting History page for GoToMeeting only. (COLLABEP-20788)
Webcams Hidden During Polls or Tests (Mac)
-
Improvements have been made to displayed webcams while a poll or test is in progress. Previously, webcams stayed active on Windows but users experienced broken webcam filters and toolbar options. Now, webcams will either be hidden or the filters and toolbar buttons will be unavailable. Note that this improvement was made in v8.16.0, b7881 for Macs. (COLLABEP-20308)
- When users have the Webcam pane undocked from the Viewer window, all webcams will be hidden and resumed when poll or test is closed.
- When users have the Webcam pane docked to the Viewer window, all webcam filters and menu buttons will be removed and available again when poll or test is closed.
