ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsStuck Low Resolution and Warnings Been struck with several unusual behaviors and have found a temporary solution for anyone who may be afflicted. Three identical computers (hardware wise) suddenly started showing up at a locked resolution of 1024x768. Manually switching and resolution matching did nothing - they changed and immediately changed back to the low resolution. Two of the machines also suffered a continual popping of a Native Resolution message, reporting that the resolution was far below the native resolution of 2048xsomething, which is also wrong. This message continually popped, rendering the computer unusable, since it was always pulling focus. However, One of the computers was stuck not at 1024x768 but instead 1600x1200. This was not directly coincident with any driver or Windows Updates. Seemingly completely at random. One day, nothing worked. Excluding the troubleshooting, I silenced the display resolution warnings when I eventually drove all the way to where the machines were. Two systems manifested phantom secondary monitors. I "merged" them with display mirroring in Display Settings. Over LogMeIn sessions, I changed the color depth to the middle value, instead of HD, and suddenly all of my problems were gone. So at least I have my utility back. But what the heck. Re: Screen Resolution, Matching, Black Screen, AMD Graphics So close... Your suggestion about changing color depth instantly worked. However, after booting headless, and setting the color depth... I am locked, LOCKED, at 640x480. ... So. Great. I can SEE my tiny window. But yeah. Re: Screen Resolution, Matching, Black Screen, AMD Graphics This is interesting. I tried the resolution options but I didn't alter any color options. I'll have to try this Monday, when I'm back in the office and can physically unplug the monitor I left plugged in. But I thank you for your suggestion and will report back. In the meantime, if you're around, after switching to Thousands of Colors or whatever and getting a display image, can you then switch back to Millions of Colors successfully? And your graphics card, an AMD based model? Re: Screen Resolution, Matching, Black Screen, AMD Graphics Thanks for your reply. What do you mean by HD in your last statement? Also, I find it curious that four other workstations on our account are connected to a single display via a VGA based KVM switch - only one is visible on the local display at a time. However, I can access any of them without the KVM switch being switched to a specific computer. Is this a product of being connected to a display, even if the display is not active? Or is it merely by virtue of the fact that a display cable is connected? Or is it that a display device is connected, even if it is not active? Will just plugging in a DisplayPort or HDMI cable make my PC accessible headlessly? Screen Resolution, Matching, Black Screen, AMD Graphics Have just built a new workstation which I intended to run headless and use via LogMeIn only. It happens to use an AMD based graphics card. The computer was set up fine with directly connected keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Unplugged all peripherals, logged in from another computer, and got to a black screen. Nothing I did like moving the mouse or sending CTRL-ALT-DEL or changing the resolution yielded an image. The spare monitor I have on hand is a 1600x900 monitor. I plugged this in and then remotely connected again. I can then connect properly, except my remote resolution maxes out at 1600x900 - both Screen Matching and manually selecting 1920x1080 (the resolution of the computer I'm sitting at) do not work with the latter being completely unavailable anyway. Somewhat anecdotally, the only other computer I've worked with with LogMeIn and an AMD Graphics card can also not remotely set a standard, full HD resolution. That one can set anything like 1600x900, 1600x1200, or 1024x768, but not 1920x1080, and THAT computer IS plugged into a 1920x1080 monitor. So, I've got two AMD based computers which cannot set a standard full HD remote connection resolution for two different reasons, and I can't operate them headless because I get nothing but a black screen. I'd rather not have to waste a monitor plugging it into a remotely accessed machine, and I'd rather not be stuck at the 1600x900 of the only spare display I have. Are there any solutions for any of this? Re: Sync Clipboard works unreliably I am on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, always up to date with Windows Updates, and the only connections I make are to other Windows 10 Pro 64-bit based clients, also up to date. LogMeIn versions seem to be 4.1.0.12382 but updating now on the client sides and I go through the website to access them. I don't use the App for access. Software versions aside, this has been an issue for the entire time I've used the product. I've discussed this with support on two or more occasions and get frustrated with Make sure the Clipboard Sync box is checked and try Reinstalling the Client... Re: Sync Clipboard works unreliably I fear the issue is that they don't know why it doesn't work, thus there is no solution. They may not be able to replicate the issue and cannot then diagnose it. ...or they just don't care. Re: Sync Clipboard works unreliablyAre you using the LogMeIn application for Windows? Do you find any difference at all if/when you login to logmein.com and use the website to access your remote machines? I have not seen a difference and perhaps there should be no difference. However, some behaviors I find are different via the application such as a lot of trouble with sudden IP blocking. That is an issue for another thread another time though.Sync Clipboard works unreliably I find that the Sync Clipboard works very erratically. I have a computer onwhich it never works. I have a computer onwhich it sometimes works. And I have a computer onwhich it works reliably. I have been unable to find a solution for this issue. I have checked whether the option is selected or not, and I have cycled the selection from off to on again. I have tested different browsers. I have used the Client. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Client. I do not know what else to do. I am a user of paid LogMeIn Pro. All of the computers are now running Windows 10 Pro.
