I'm not going to promote anyone specific, but every other vendor I tried worked effortlessly with the ATEM. GoTo support told me I had to go to a professional networking specialist to make changes to Win10 registry files to make my system compatible with GoTo. Switching vendors was a lot easier and cheaper. Re: Using Blackmagic ATEM with GTT Chris, I just gave Zoom a serious workout, and the ATEM worked seemlessly. There's something about the GoTo app that is preventing it from fully recognizing the ATEM. I can see the ATEM as a webcam option in GTT, but the video doesn't actually play - in the settings screen, I just get a black background with an infinite circling flower. Re: Using Blackmagic ATEM with GTT I noticed that on your post that you didn't load the ATEM software, so I tested the ATEM on a Dell Windows 10 laptop that did not have any of the additional ATEM software loaded on it. GTT/GTM both failed on the Dell. The ATEM software doesn't have anyting to do with it. I truly wish it had. I spent a long time on the phone with support, and support was able to get the ATEM to work with one combination of GTM online - or at least it recognized the camera during setup. It didn't work at all with the desktop apps. He told me there was at least one port conflict with the desktop software that needed to be whitelisted, and that I'd have to hire someone to do the work because it was beyond what support would do. Sounds to me like the GTT/GTM software has a problem running on Windows 10 that needs to be fixed. The two systems I worked with were a 4 month old Alienware Area 51-M system, which is more than capable of running all of this equipment, and a Dell Latitutde E5540, both of which are running with all current hardware and Windows 10 updates. One other thing - because I'd really like this to work - is that on both of the systems above I have a minimum of other software loaded. I don't run MS Office apps or anything but Adobe CS6 and Streamlabs OBS (and Google Chrome) on the Alienware unit, and the only app on the Dell is Camtasia. I use both systems exclusively for editing media, GTM and livestreaming. I intentionally keep them as clean as possible to avoid conflicts. The whitelisting fix is bogus because it means I'm locked into using only one system that I have custom configured to use with GTM/GTT. The ATEM Mini seems to work with everything else - Zoom, Skype, the Win10 Camera app - so why won't it work with the GoTo apps? Re: Play video embedded in PowerPoint and mix multiple computers and cameras to a GoToWebinar - 11 Feb Second Update - The desktop apps for GTT and GTM won't work with the ATEM unless you can find an "IT Professional" who can whitelist certain ports in Windows 10 systems to allow them to receive video for GTT and GTM. In other words, unless you want to screw with your registry files in hopes of making GTT or GTM work, you might want to investigate other web conference providers that just treat the ATEM Mini like a webcam. (It looks like Chris was using a Mac, so it looks like Macs don't have this problem) 11 Feb Update - this post was marked as an answer too soon. Got the ATEM Mini, and it works with everything EXCEPT GoToTraining and GoToMeeting. Support is telling me that the ATEM is "too professional" for GoToTraining and it only supports simple webcams. Still trying to make it work, but not looking good. This could be a deal breaker for GTT going forward. ORIGINAL POST: Thank you - this is really helpful. I ordered an ATEM Mini earlier this week and am eagerly awaiting its arrival. This device will do a lot to make my GoToTraining sessions a lot more professional. I've been frustrated a long time by the inability to zoom smoothly and control the focus of webcams, and now I can use a real camera to capture my video. Re: Using Blackmagic ATEM with GTT OK - over an hour with Service and the bottom line is that the ATEM doesn't work on the desktop app for GTT or GTM. We got it to work over the internet app for GTM, but the support session concluded by the rep telling me I have to find an "IT Professional" who can whitelist certain ports that are blocking the desktop app. Either that, or I can switch to a different videoconference provider that doesn't require me to pay someone to make registry changes that may or may not fix the app and may or may not screw up other programs. Hmmm. . . . Re: Play video embedded in PowerPoint and mix multiple computers and cameras to a GoToWebinar - This was accepted as a solution a bit too soon. Have not been able to connect the ATEM Mini to either GoToTraining or GoToMeeting. I'm not a GoToWebinar subscriber. Have tried two different computers - 1 that installed all of the ATEM driver software, and one that had not. Both systems see Blackmagic Design as a webcam option, but neither work. Just a black circle with a rotating flower of infinite waiting. If anyone has had success, please speak up. I'm headed to support to see what can be done. Re: Using Blackmagic ATEM with GTT Well, I got the ATEM Mini and haven't been able to configure it with GTT. It sees the Blackmagic device as a webcam, but when I try to switch it to be my webcam, all I get is a blank preview screen and the spinning circle of infinite waiting. I've gone into my ATEM settings to change things around to see if it will link up, but no joy yet. I hope I can get this to work - it will improve my trainings immeasurably. Getting this to work is going to be a key factor as to whether I stick to the GTT platform. Re: Using Blackmagic ATEM with GTT Thanks for your reply. Something about this message board is blocking me from looking at your embedded link, but I appreciate you taking the time to try to help me out. Using Blackmagic ATEM with GTT Has anyone tried the new Blackmagic ATEM Mini with GTT? I've been using GTT for two years with logitech webcams, and I want more control over focus, zoom and picture. The ATEM mini plugs into the thunderbolt port, so I'm wondering how GTT will recognize it. The ATEM is designed for livestreaming and can handle up to 4 HDMI cameras along with PIP options, so this could be a big enhancement for my GTT sessions. I'm going to get one for my livestreaming needs on Youtube and Facebook, but I'd love to hear from the community if they have had any success with it. Solved
