Urgent! Latest Client Not Compatible With Mac OS X 10.11 (El Capitan)
Urgent! I'm running on OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) due to requirement of other software. The new LogMeInMac Client does not work on El Capitan. I've got my older version which still works fine. How do I stop LogMeIn from automatically updating the client to the version that doesn't work on my OS. Lesser importance, why in God's name would you force out an update that doesn't check the OS before installing and thereby breaking things?!?! After searching endlessly for a fix to this issue, I have resorted to posting what I am experiencing. I handle LogMeIn on (let's just call it) a lot of Mac computers for our organization. I have repetitively run into an issue with Big Sur & Monterey when remoting into a client computer that looks like the following (logos/client's name have been removed): When this happens, I cannot see anything on the client's computer, however, my mouse movements & clicks WILL register. The only known fix is to physically visit the client's computer and un-check/re-check all security settings for LMIGUIAgent. This poses an issue as some of our client computers are sent worldwide after preparation. I did see a post recommending trying a caffeinate command for Macs with the M1 chip - our Macs have Intel chips. I did see a post recommending lowering BIOS security levels - we can't do this. We must have Full Security & a BIOS password set for every machine. Sample Computer (experiencing issue) Specs: Mac OS Monterey (12.2.1) Mac Mini (2018) Intel Core i5 3 GHz 6-Core Processor 8GB RAM Intel Graphics My Computers Specs: Mac OS Monterey (12.2.1) MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020) Intel Core i5 Quad-Core Processor 16GB RAM Intel Iris graphics Any input on this issue would be appreciated because it has truly become an issue within our organization.Solved5.6KViews1like10CommentsMultiple complaints from end users since recent automatic update to LMI Client
It seems that the 1.3.5282 update has introduced a few issues in my environment that I am having trouble tracking down. Wonder if others are seeing these things. These issues are on home equipment that I do not manage but support on a best effort basis, so I'm limited in what I can/am willing to do. Home equipment (clients) is a mix of OSes. All hosts are Win 10. The more severe of the two issues is that the client application simply will not launch. You launch the application, you see the process for a moment in Task Manager, but then it closes immediately with no feedback. This has occurred on Windows 10 computers and a Windows 7 computer. I uninstalled the application, deleted all LMI folders from programdata and appdata, and installed an older version I fortunately had saved and instructed the users to not install updates when prompted. The other issue is that the remote computer looks blurry. We've gone through all the resolution options on the host and client side, as well as changing color depth and zoom settings to no avail. This has happened on Windows 10 and Mac clients.2.2KViews1like5CommentsFeature Request: TLS 1.2
Just wondering if it’s planned to move all the functionality of LogMeIn Central to function on TLS 1.2. As of now TLS 1.1 is needed for One2Many & Remote Execution to function at the moment. While using the LogMeIn Client, if you use the “Open the command prompt / powershell” button. It uses TLS 1.0 for the user sending the command, while the receiving end get’s it in TLS 1.1. Now I don't know if other features of LogMeIn Central uses anything older than TLS 1.2. Though if it does we would like to see them moved to TLS 1.2 (or at least functionable in TLS 1.2). We would like to see these moved to TLS 1.2 for security purposes if possible. Cheers, Brandon919Views1like0CommentsIssues connecting to one of my clients.
I have around 100 clients across the US that I administer. In the past 3-4 months, I have been unable to connect to one of my clients PC's (2). On one PC (Win 10) I can connect to the dashboard, but never the PC (connection fails). On the other PC (also Win 10) I cannot even get to the control panel. Both show version 13508 in Central. I assumed issues with old infrastructure, and have replaced everything except the cabling in the walls (DSL modem, Luxul router and Luxul switch. We even upgraded the DSL speed from 10 mbps to 25 mbps. I am at a loss, I cannot find any reason that would cause me to not connect after many many years of no issues and no changes other then PC upgrades.670Views1like0CommentsClearType Text Disabled? - Blocky/Unclear Text
Question: It seems like LogMeIn somehow disables ClearType text in the Windows host. Is there a way to get it to stop doing that? Background and Testing: I have always noticed that text viewed through a LogMeIn remote session have seemed less clear/smooth than directly viewing the host's physical monitor. Historically I chalked this up to compression. Now that we have all of our users working remotely, I have been getting complaints. Through a bunch of testing, I found that most things are pretty clear when the network connection is good, the color quality is set to HD, and the host and remote computer resolutions are matched. An array of single-pixel-wide lines come through clearly without noticeable distortion. But portions of characters that may be less than a full pixel in size comes through as blocky and/or lacking clarity. I tried all variations of settings that are available (network, color, resolution), and nothing improved this issue. I tried with the display accelerator enabled and disabled, but it didn't change. I could not find that LogMeIn offers an option like "font smoothing" or similar like some other products do. I somewhat randomly checked the Windows ClearType Text settings on the host computer, and found that ClearType was disabled. But it is enabled by default, and I know for sure that I did not disable it. So it seems that LogMeIn automatically disabled it. Is there a setting/method that will cause this to stop?4.9KViews1like8Commentsno mouse or keyboard control from iOS to Catalina host
I've recently updated my Mac to Catalina and updated LogMeIn to 4.1.0.11189 I've checked off every instance I can find of LogMeIn in my privacy settings, but now I can only connect to the Mac with my ipad or phone and see the screen. I cannot control the mouse or keyboard like I could before. I've seen some attempts at solutions here with related things, but either that isn't working, or I am missing something. Any ideas?1.2KViews1like1CommentError message: Failed to download LogMeIn AV package
Trying to install the LogMeIn Antivirus program on about 100 sites and at ramdom some units won't download the Installation Package. We get the message: "Unable to retrieve LogMeIn Antivirus. Visit help.logmein.com for assistance. Error message: Failed to download LogMeIn AV package" What can be done to correct this? Is there a way to manually obtain this "AV package" and run it? or at least place it on a folder manually so LogMeIn can finish the install?3.1KViews1like5CommentsLMI AV Utilizes a lot of resources
With the rollout of the LMI Anti-Virus solution it appears this is utilizing a lot of resources to install. Is there a specific reason why? A few of the PC's i've installed LMI AV on, looking at Task Manager LogMeIn.exe is running anywhere between 380,000k to 450,000k. Hopefully there's a solution in the works to reduce this. But if no one else has reported it, here you go.:smileyhappy:2.5KViews1like3Comments
