logmein meeting invite - outlook calendar hyperlink will not add to outlook

i have a user that is using terminal services logged into server from workstation via RDP, has outlook open and gets a meeting invite in outlook 2016 and in this email invite outlook calendar clicks on it  it opens Google chrome instead of adding it to the outlook calendar. why is this , the google calendar invite in the email opens google chrome as designed why does this occur? thanks

    Sorry about the delay nva1 ,

    Do you know if this functionality has ever worked properly for the user on RDP before? 

    Can you elaborate on the RDP setup some more, and if any other users experience this?
