Benefits of video transcript
Can somebody explain what the actual benefits are from having a transcript available with your recorded webinar that is published on your channel?
Does the transcript get indexed by search engines, and therefore can be found when using the right keywords?
If anybody has some personal experiences with using these transcript, I'd be happy to learn from them!
Chris is right, that the main benefits to transcripts are seekability, and accessibility for those who cannot watch the whole video at once, or have some impairments.
If you publish your cloud recording to a GoToStage channel then it can also be found publicly by viewers through key words and categories: https://support.goto.com/webinar/help/what-is-gotostage-g2w040049
Additionally, if you're interested in on-screen captions / subtitles, there are ways to create these within a presentation itself: https://support.goto.com/webinar/help/use-google-slides-or-microsoft-powerpoint-for-closed-nbsp-captions

A transcript is a good substitution for adding closed captions to your video. Both of these options help make your video more accessible to people with hearing disabilities. In the United States, having either closed captions or a transcript is required to satisfy the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
