This is LogMeIn Central that gives you this.
Jason26, if you go from the sidebar: Updates > Windows, you'll see your list of computers. If you just select 1 you'll see "Change Setting" at the top of the list become active. If you click on that you'll go to the Update Settings screen for that machine. In the "Choose how Windows can install updates" section, if you change the "Recommended Updates" to "Handle the same way as important updates" it will get optional windows updates to display. That has helped me sometimes but its not a fix and the things Ash has recommended, don't work. LogMeIn made some change between versions and all of this stopped working right, so much so that if I went and installed an older version of LMI, this whole update process works without issue but since LMI auto updates, that version won't stay long.
Yeah I was going to explain that to Oscar today since he asked the question about not being able to see the optional updates, but thank you for the information. Checked back on the Server that I have been testing with and put screenshots in yesterday and still same issue with not seeing the correct updates. One of them is a February patch so it should show up correctly. Something is broken on the LMI end for sure.

I had an absolutely horrible call from their "support" yesterday.
Worst call ever.
I needed to remote into all my computers that won't update and provide logs for all, then I needed to verify my configuration of LMI to ensure the computers were pulling correctly and send that to LMI, then it would take a few days to get an answer from LMI as to why this isn't working.
Sorry, I don't have time for all that **bleep**.
Problem is not 2 months ago they told me that updates only become available to apply to computers when at least 100 computers in my company report the same update, then and only then can I apply, only problem is, I don't have 100 computers in my company, so how does that **bleep** work?
Support reads from a script, has no knowledge of the platform or its history. I started using LMI back with XP and never had an issue with updates, then when 7 rolled out there were a few hiccups, but support was helpful, knew the product and got back to you in a timely manner, even if it was a bigger issue that took some time, you still had regular communication with a knowledgeable person.
Now 10 rolls out and every version of 10 breaks LMI's ability to update computers like the program has been able to do in the past. Now its jump through this hoop, that hoop, bend over backwards and even after you do everything they ask, they come up with a new reason it doesn't work and start the process all over again.
LMI get your head out of your arse and either fix this or remove it from the program. You're not helping anyone anymore.

Still an issue with me as well and we have almost 12k computers. I agree they need to just remove the function if it will not work correctly. There has been no product development or movement on anything in LMI central for quite some time. It is very disappointing.

Yep! This is exactly when I have been trying to explain to them for all this time.

And all of a sudden I come back later in the day and it is only showing 1 update available, when clearly was 2 this morning. Details are still not available.
- telenberger4 years agoActive Contributor
Yes, you will see this change. I have had computers show there are X amount of updates available but LMI has no details and then after a reboot or if a user actually does an update on their own, the X amount will change. I have even seen it change when Microsoft comes out with a new cumulative update that contains multiple fixes. The bottom line is that if LMI can see there are X amount available then it should have detail on said update so it can be applied and it's no longer doing that

After the weekend still reporting the same. I am going to continue to put this in until LMI can figure this out.

Showing 2 updates when I am on the machine
And still not showing correct in LMI
Just waiting for LMI to fix the issue

Here is my daily update of the ongoing LMI Windows update issue. Checked back in today and now it is showing 3 updates total with 2 still no details on, but I do have 1 showing up that I am able to do something with.
Went to the console of the computer and it shows the following. Well I guess it is getting closer to reporting correctly. As you see one of the updates is Servicing Stack update in February and LMI console should know about this update and be able to get the details about it.
LMI are you looking into this issue???
- Jason264 years agoActive Contributor
Slowly trying to work itself out. Still should be much quicker in getting the information of what updates. Does not really make this scalable.
- telenberger4 years agoActive Contributor
And right now I have the opposite, LMI says there is an update but when I go to the computer and run Windows update, it says there are no updates.
- Jason264 years agoActive Contributor
Yeah we are seeing that as well on some other test workstations. I am only noting the one with screenshots to try and be consistent with the troubleshooting, but yes we are seeing the same thing. All different variations of issues on workstations, Servers doesn't matter.

nah i've just got to the point that i dont care telling logme in of this kind of issues, it seems they never listen or care, remember the time when the antivirus section was empty?? i got the we are looking into it for about 3 months, now with this windows updates meh i just check every tuesday for updates take a screenshot and send it to all my user letting them know there are updates to be installed
- Jason264 years agoActive Contributor
Yeah I need to be able to do this on a larger scale. I have 11000 computers that I need to try an manage, so they need to come up with a fix.
- telenberger4 years agoActive Contributor
Exactly. This is one of their main selling points so yes, they need to get their heads out of their collective asses and fix this.
- Jason264 years agoActive Contributor
So came back over the weekend to check the test machine that I am using in screenshots and now shows only 2 updates not 3 like it did last week. LMI are you listening?? This is broke.
- Jason264 years agoActive Contributor
Checked back in over the weekend and now reporting this from the console:
and yet again still not reporting correctly in LMI:
- etadena4 years agoNew ContributorCould it be your version of logmein central installed in your host machines? I've reach out to them about getting the LMC software updated in a batch but I have not been able to get a clear answer.
- telenberger4 years agoActive Contributor
No, this is the latest version, its been an issue for a VERY long time across multiple versions. They just don't accept that there is an issue and push it back onto us. LMI isn't the same supportive company they used to be.
- Jason264 years agoActive Contributor
Yeah like telenberger said, I have this issue across multiple technicians and all our stuff is up to date. Still showing incorrect on my test case that I have been documenting on here. I wish LMI would listen and try to figure it out or at least respond.

Over a year later and we are still having this issue Ash. I just hung up with support and they are talking to me like this is a new, never before heard of issue, how can that be when its never been resolved?
- Jason264 years agoActive Contributor
LMI ARE YOU listening at all? Several functions have just been left languishing or just not fully developed in Central in my opinion. Windows updates being one that has just lingered for a very long time. Report functionality is not very useful especially when trying to run an inventory report that you can't just select a client to run a report on. So when I try run a report it is doing the report for 12k devices which takes the report super long to run, but I digress. LMI please fix this issue.

This is still an issue for me also, very frustrating. Has anyone seen / heard / solved? Thanks all!
- telenberger3 years agoActive Contributor
You are correct, no product development since they were bought out or merged or what the hell ever, with GoTo, which by the way, also has horrible support.
- NotAHugeFan3 years agoActive ContributorI just cant bear to move on. They have so many good things going, why cant they just patch this up?!?
- Jason263 years agoActive Contributor
You would think that they would want to fix this. Don't even get me started on the LMIAV rollout and the lack of functionality on setting policies. You can't even do wildcard exclusions or network path or many other basic AV exclusions that most vendors are able to do. Very limited in functionality, but I digress.
