Default Printers

I'm helping a user who is having trouble managing her default printer with LogMeIn. She is running Windows 7 on her home computer and Windows 10 on her work computer. Her work computer is the LogMeIn host computer.

When she is at work, she wants one of the office printers to be the default on her work computer. When she is at home and is connecting to her work computer via LogMeIn, she wants her redirected home printer to be the default on her work computer and then when she disconnects she wants her work default printer to switch back to the office printer it had been before she connected.

If we set her redirected home printer to be the default on her work computer, then when she disconnects her work computer chooses another default printer that is not the one she wants. So when she goes into the office she has to change it back.

If we set her office printer to be her default, then her home printer does not automatically become her default when she connects to her work computer.

Is it possible to set things up the way that she wants?

OK I will try setting up the LogMeIn host software (control panel) again on the host PC and see if that fixes the problem.

mgomez  Yes, that is the expected behavior.  See if reinstalling the endpoint software updates the printer driver action when connected remotely.  Do this when someone is phyisically at that PC.

That doesn't seem to be happening. She has a default set on her work computer that she likes when she is in work. But when she connects from home, the default printer doesn't change automatically to the LMG Remote Printer on her work computer - it stays on what it had been before she connected. You seem to be saying that it should change automatically.

If I'm right about what should happen, do you have any suggestions to fix this?

mgomez  Yes, the LMI Remote Printer is only temporarily activated while connected.  Once disconnected, it should revert automatically to the previous default.  No action is needed on the user end to change printers.

The remote priver driver does activate and she can use it to print, but it isn't set as her default. Her office printer remains her default printer even when she connects from home. Is this normal behavior? She claims that it is not.

mgomez  Sorry, has the remote printer driver ever automatically activated while connected?  Or, is this just an issue with the default printer on the Host end not reverting after the connection completes?
