Desktop resolution keeps resetting

Hello,

We all of a sudden have many users that can not adjust their display settings properly. It works after following the steps from another post (listed below) however if they lock their screen, reboot, of log off... it reverts back.  For instance a PC with a resolution of 1920x1080 always resets to 1024x768.

Previous post temporary solution:

  1. Use logmein to login to the computer
  2. Right click the desktop
  3. Select display settings
  4. Take note of the active monitors, there could be many monitors but greyed out, focus on the active monitors
    1. For instance there could be 4 monitors and only 3 & 4 are active
  5. From the example above, pick one of the active monitors (3 or 4)
  6. Under “Multiple Displays” option, select duplicate these displays on monitors 3&4 or whatever 2 monitors are active in your case
  7. Under “Display Resolution” select desired display
  8. Under LogmeIn options, select Match Display
  • For those wondering:

The solution is to uncheck the "Blank Screen" box within LogmeIn options.

Thank you stixxz!!!  This issue was driving me crazy, and your solution is by far the simplest of any I've seen.

I'll add that after changing the resolution , the user can re-check the “Blank Screen” box and the resolution will stay at the new setting.  This will turn off their monitor back at the office, instead of it staying on for no reason and letting other people see what's on it.
